Yeah, pierced tongues are for 'licking' girls! (It's my understanding that guys get there tongues pierced when the don't know how to 'lick' properly)

Somewhere over the years the anti-trend crowd became trendy (anti-trend trendy crowd). And during that time they adopted peircings as one of their "seperate from the rest of society" differences (read new trend for them). After that happened peircings started becoming gay.
