A little bit of bad Dodge news

I was just over on a Dodge site, because I've been studying up on how the new Hemi's and Cummins are doing. Truth be told I want to buy a diesel and was considering the Dodge maybe even over the Ford. Their diesel engines are very tough, easy to work on and cheap to fix up for performance.
After reading about their very thin sheetmetal that makes me think again. Seems like more than a few over there are complaing about small to medium dents, just from touching, leaning, or slighlty hitting the body. Check it out for yourself www.dtw.truckmoxie.com/forums/topic.ten?id=63362

No way their Inline 6 diesel can outperform the new Ford diesel. Dodges suck, they're not heavy duty.

you didn't think they would sell the same quality stuff as ford & chevy for less, did you?

dodges are cheaper... the money you save has to come from somewhere...

Well, the Dodges are made/sold cheaper than Ford but I wouldn't even compare them to the Chevy. The Dodge diesels do/can perfrom very well same can't be said on their autos or axles. The Dodge diesels do use an inline six with pretty good size beefy internals (bigger than Fords). Stronger might be another question as mass and strenth do not always mean everything. The inline six in usually is a very good torque producer, look at all of the big rigs. With two less cylinders and all inlines there are less parts to break and wear.
I have seen on more than one occasion various Cummins that would out pull the Powerstoke with similar mods and/or similar amounts of money in mods. Doesn't mean always, just been the case I have seen and heard about.
Anyways point being is that even compaing older Dodge to newer Dodge they have went even cheaper, it seems. I do like Ford and would love to have a Powerstroke just no need or money for one right now. Also with the current problems in the 6.0 it's a no win situation.

I drove a Cummin's Diesel dually about 4 years ago when I was working for an underground storage tank removal firm. It was a VERY nice rig and was VERY powerful.

I can't compare it head to head with anything else but, if I was in the market for a diesel, I promise it'd be high on my list...
