Talking

Well, although I try not to judge people by "outward" things, I would have to seriously question either the taste, sanity or IQ of chicks who drove: Shovitte (Chevette); Pontiac Aztec; Ford Tempo; Yugo. It's like screaming to the world, "Hey, I'm a tasteless moron."

However, some people, I realize just need some way to get around or may be down on their luck and can't afford more or better.

...and looks definitely can sway my opinion

Substitute "women" for "guys", then add, ".... or are looking for more than they can reasonably expect to get." You'll have a statement that is equally as true.

Besides, women don't want a decent guy til they are ready to settle down. Translation: Nice guys end up with over-ripe fruit and cold left-overs.

I'd have a tough time judging someone based on their ride. When I met my wife in 1993 she had a 1986 Tercel from which the mufffler fell out about 6 weeks after we met, and I was in a 1981 VW Rabbit with no headliner.

That said, I think I'd have a bit more respect for someone in a $1000 car with $10 hubcaps than someone in a $1000 car with $2000 wheels. In ATL, there is just no shortage of that sort.

It's not that I judge them for who they are, but it definitely turns me off because that's not my taste. It's just an extra zing, like, 'Wow, we really do have stuff in common, we both like Fords.' It just helps with the compatibility factor. And since I'm STRICTLY FORDS, it means a great deal to me, but I guess once in a while, if I found a guy and I thought he might even be 'the One,' but didn't drive a Ford, I could be a little open-minded.

Currently I'm dealing with a Dodge and Chevy.

EDIT: oh yeah, and a Nissan, too.

Steer yourself towards the Dodge, it's the better of the 3...

You are correct about Atlanta but even here in Athens you see
some crazy stuff...in early summer saw a fine looking Saleen mustang convertable in the distance...wanted to get a closer look...he had the most awful spinners...they looked so thick...totally destroyed the beauty of a nice ride...then he kept on bothering me in an obnoxious manner to run....after fully irratating me for 5 minutes I dropped the hammer.....and waved goodbye as that blower whinned its steel music...his girlfriend laughed at Mr. Idiot then Mr. Idiot gave me the finger....I think the finger treatment was his way of telling me his IQ.

Yes, indeed. Little snag though- the Dodge is with a Honda.

Quite an interesting thread we got here...

I'm an ALL FORD guy but by no means do i EVER judge people, especially chicks, by what they drive. everyone has different taste in things. i happen to love Fords and am a Lightning fanatic. would i hold it against a girl for not driving a Lightning? absolutely not. that's being materialistic. the majority of the gfs i've had in the past didn't drive hot cars or Lightnings...i didn't date them for their cars. i dated them because they were awesome and fun chicks.

i wouldn't want people to judge ME by what i drive...the majority of the time i'm driving my 4cylinder mustang because its my daily beater for work. no one has any idea that i have a gorgeous Lightning sittin in the driveway at home. if chicks are going to judge me for what i'm drivin' then they're in it for money and diggin in the wrong pockets. i know girls like to date successful guys with goals and careers which is reasonable but at the same time they can't judge you by your ride and vice versa.

to me, a chick drivin' a truck is pretty damn hot. in fact, just last night i saw a girl drivin a 99-00 Lightning. she drove right in front of best buy but didn't come into the store. i stood there shocked and people walked right by me and i had no idea (i'm security and am supposed to check receipts) the manager was like 'yeah i came by and saw the girl in the L, then noticed you standing there with your mouth open so i had to check their receipts.' LOL
so yeah, that's hot to me. it's awesome that we have girls like Leeann around. i certainly appreciate her and she's an awesome friend. her ride just adds to her appeal...and the fact that she helped install my headers... nothin' better then bein' squeezed under the truck with a cute girl who drives a Lightning and works on em too! Leeann - this bud's for you!

I have a thing for women that drive really big trucks. But I don't really care what they drive.

Personally if I have the opportunity to date a girl who drove a Lightning I would JUMP on it. Then to top it off if she was also into racing then double JUMP. That has got to be some kind of fantasy, a women who has excellent taste in trucks and loves racing…

Some guys have these ego trips that, for some reason, prohibit them from dating someone that may make more money then they do and/or hold a higher position in the work force…

My ex could never understand my philosophy on spending money. She loved to spend $500 plus on rings, them itty bitty things for ones fingers. Well my philosophy is if something cost $500 or more it had better have some weight to it. As in it takes at least two people to put it into the bed of the truck…

yes datin' a girl who drives a L would be IDEAL. dating a girl who races her L would be PERFECT lol but the chances of finding that are 1 in a few million prolly...(LITERALLY)

and hey if a girl i'm datin' makes more money than me then SWEET! lol that's key! with the way i see things, i don't date chicks unless i see potential in them for a serious relationship. i'm not here to waste my time. and if she makes more than me then that's great. i've always tried to help my gfs financially whether it be supportin' them in tryin' out new jobs or positions at their company or whatever. i try to help them make more money...this way even if we don't stay together, they can still better provide for themselves and won't have to depend on their significant other. i don't like to depend on others for money and i'm sure no one else does, so i try to help out those who are willing to listen.

Did'nt get any dates while i was driving my 72 Pinto Station Wagon. Did'nt care much though, if women were not interested in me for what I was, then they are not worth it. The car was transportation for me then, when I did'nt have alot of money. I was fairly good looking and hard working but I guess they saw the Pinto as a negative status symbol.

Now that I have some money, I drive the 150 because I like to, not because of status. And I still feel the the same, If women are interested in me only because of the car/truck I drive, then they are not worth it.
