Anybody know anything about Netscape

Hey guys,

If anyone knows anything about Netscape 7.1, I need some help.

About every third time I open a new message on the MAIL & NEWSGROUPS window or open another folder, the screen goes blank and it won't do anything. It will let me close it out and it never locks up the NAVIGATOR window. All I do is go back to the NAVIGATOR and pull down WINDOWS and click on MAIL & NEWSGROUPS and it works for a while until it does it again.

I have uninstalled it twice and reinstalled and even started over and downloaded it again.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Use Opera or IE

I used Netscape for a while, (4.7) then I upgraded to 7 and then I hated it so I switched to IE.

Much of Netscape is broken, hence the scattered responses suggesting you switch. I'll throw one more in: switch to Mozilla. It will be a familiar interface but FAR better functionality. It beats the heque out of IE. That said, your question still needs an answer.

Netscape by default tries to use the browser engine to render HTML and scripts in your email. It sounds like it may be choking on some bad script in one of your emails. If you can, use another program to retrieve and save your messages, then delete them both from the server and from Netscape and it should start behaving itself. If not, then the problem may be in Windows or something else interfering with Netscape, which leads me back to switching to Moz. Hope that helps!
