Ridgid Power Tools

Okay, so Im at the big orange do-it-yourself store on the weekend and I notice that Ridgid is in the hand-held power tool market now. Drills, Jig-Saws, Sanders et al.

This company has long made quality products for the Plumbing and Electrical contracting sector, but now they want a piece of the woodworking and DIY markets (one look at how DeWalt and Porter-Cable have taken off is pretty good reason to get in)

So I go to the website to learn more and these new tools are made by Emerson.

Now that raised my eyebrow.

Wasn't Emerson the company that used to make Craftsman power tools? Back when Craftsman made kick-butt never break tools?

Yep. I found that out 3 years ago when I bought my compound miter saw. I was sold. Great power tools, IMO.

I have a Ridgid 10" power miter saw and their 10" portable table saw (w/kickass stand), and they are really great tools for the $$$

Can't go wrong.
