Everybody BUT the majority have rights and they must be protected......
The rest of us schmucks are too damn busy making a living and paying taxes to stand up and be heard.

I think it is pretty funny. I don't have a problem with it, and any 9 year old kid who does is.....listining to his/her parents. The kid doesn't have to say it if she doesn't want to, but they should at least stand up and pay respect to the flag and everything it stands for. I have some friends who think its cool not to stand up and talk during the national anthem. I gave them a piece of my mind. But back to the thing, I think they have a good case, and they way courts have been ruling in cases like this recintly sugest that they might rule for the kid, but seeing that it is a tradition I hope they don't. I think there ruling should be, it stays, but kids can not be punished for not saying it every day. That doesn't mean that they can't be forced to learn.

We covered this alot when it first about in CA.

Though reading this article, the answer to my 2 questions came about:

1) If he has a problem with it in the pledge, then how come he has no problem with 'in God we trust' printed on money?
2) If his daughter doesn't care, why is putting her in way of ridicule and torment?

The answer = he is a self absord hipocriticle *****.

It is actually quite simple. You ask the MAJORITY of people what they want. The answer will be NO problem with the pledge. Then you tell the extremely small minority who don’t agree with it TOUGH CHIT, and SHUT UP, your opinion is useless and NOBODY gives a rat’s *** what you think since you’re NOT in the MAJORITY.

I do not understand why the “extremely” small minority of people think it is ok to force their will on the MAJORITY of others.

Is there anything in the Constitution stopping them from departing America and living else where? I have read the Constitution and have it in a small booklet form and NOPE nothing in there that states someone does NOT have a right to leave the mother land and seek refuge in a country of their choosing.

Some one will come along and say “gee wiz 01 that’s kind of mean telling someone that don’t like something to leave”, actually its not mean at all, it is simple giving them their options up front. Options are follow what the MAJORITY of people want and SHUT UP or LEAVE…

God is in the very foundation on the Constitution. Don’t matter if people like that or not it IS a FACT and it IS a part of America. Either they accept it or go start another country and turn it socialist like France. See there is an option they can all move to France…

believe it or not, I have never once said "the pledge" ... I never fully agreed with it...even as a kid, so why would I recite it? I never cared if anyone else said it, you have a choice as it is. I think its a shame how most kids recite it blindly, without thinking about it what so ever. I think they should leave it how it is, but they need to make sure kids are not being forced into saying it by the teachers... I know my teachers used to get pretty mad at me for not doing it...but I never cared
