Our '92 Mercury Grand Marquis has come up with a new problem.

The windshield wipers work fine when you turn them on, but when in the off position, they stick straight up, versus going down and out of sight.

When turned on, they work just like they are supposed to...pause at the bottom, etc. But as soon as you turn them off, they go straight up.

I just got back from autozone, the guy said it was most likely the motors going bad. Is this right? Any idea how much new wiper motors would cost?
