Question buy info on EBAY?

i have seen auctions on ebay that say you are bidding on info only to a website where you can buy stuff really cheap. has anyone here actually bought this and had anything good come out of it? or is it a big scam?

I have bought several things on Ebay and never had a problem.

#1 - I know exactly what I am buying.
#2 - I have researched prices both online and stores/catalogs.

Check the sellers feedback. I have gotten a couple of good deals. Pair of binoculars from an outdoor store in CO, that was clearing the shelves for newer models. Fine by me, I am just using them for deer hunting and saved 40%.

Be wary tho, the scammers are out there. It has also become a great front for stolen goods. There has been a few busts in the Boston area. Last winter a group of youths were hitting the slopes and stealing ski equipment. One guy had his stolen, came back and went on Ebay, he found his ski's for sale. Another group were stealing computers from a High School and selling them.

Here's my FYI - whatever info you'd be looking for can most likely be found by a good search engine. I love google.com - I use it exclusively. Another good 1 is copernic.com - you can download the basic version for free.
Be sure if you're searching for a phrase that you use quotation marks. For example - if you type in "Ford F 150" it will look for all the words together. Now, if you type in Ford F 150 it will search for ALL pages that contain Ford, F150 & sometimes just the F1. You end up w/a ton of useless links. Another good way to search is to use Boolean operators - an example would be "Ford and F150 not F1".
I personally wouldn't buy info either. By the time it's sold the links may be gone! Hope this helps!
