That's racin' ?
That's racin' ?
Okay, I'm ready to get flamed for this story.
I was talking to a couple of buddies today who follow NASCAR. (sorry, I know it's blasphemy, but I don't).
They were saying how Roush Racing was caught running Dodge engines in Fords, or maybe even running a complete Dodge in Ford badges. I know this is done in other types of competition, but I have never heard of it in NASCAR.
Fact or Fiction?
Somebody set me straight, please!

I have no link to the story. I have not been able to find anything about it. I just heard two of my buddies talking about it this morning. I don't know if there is anything true about it, they may have just been playing with my lack of knowledge of NASCAR. If you haven't heard anything, then I can assume it's incorrect.
thanks

I know the Jasper Engine team took a Dodge chasis/Engine/Body to Taladega and was promptly released from their contract with Ford. But they knew it going into it that that would happen. They build Dodge engines for other teams I think and decided that it was worth it.

From my understanding of the rules in NASCAR, what ever body you run, Ford, Dodge, Chevy etc, then the motor block must be from the same manufacture. I am not sure about now, but in the 80’s all Winston Cup cars were running Ford rear-ends…

What happened was that Rousch Racing used a Dodge body and engine for last weekend's race at the EA Sports 500. Their contract was immediately cancelled with Ford, even though Roush intends to run Ford's for the rest of the year (I guess they figure that this will get their contract back....ha...dont count on it).
Sponsorship in NASCAR is a BIG deal. You screw up once and you find yourself without a sponsor.

What?? Are you serious? I didn't catch the race because I was working. I'll have to snoop around to find out about that.

And Dave Blaney drives for Jasper Motorsports, not Roush.
