I would say its actually important...
when a new member joins the forum, whose info are they more likely to trust, someone with 5 posts, or someone with 500+ posts?
Granted, if the person with 5 posts gives very detailed and obviously accurate (links, agreement, etc), then its no biggie...and whos to say the person with 500 always gives out crappy advice? But still, its in the numbers.
