I got a letter in the mail today from Microsoft Claims Department. With all of the news going around that people are being sued for using Kazaa I thought to myself "oh ****, are they trying to sue me?" Turns out 27 people in CA filed lawsuites against Microsoft for overcharging for software and having a monopoly. If I send out the form I am entitled to whopping $16 from microsoft. Even though this wasnt a lawsuit against me for "illegal file sharing," I think im going to restrict my use of Kazaa for the next few weeks. I dont feel like forking over 100k or spending 1yr in prison (according to stories I have heard)

 

The Kazzaa deal is about sending. I have looked at the list of names and what they were doing was allowing people to download off of them. No users who just downloaded were sued. Be stingy don't share the wealth. They have only sued Kazzaa, Grokster, and Imesh users. Blubster users seem to be in the clear. With that said "If you ever get a dime back from Microsoft you have done a hard days work." Congrats.
