$1800. that's how much the repair job on my 87 Mazda B2000 is. i blew a head gasket, so thats getting replaced, getting my A/C recharged, timing belt replaced, spark plugs replaced, and my valve guides replaced.

a little history on my truck:

i've had it for about a year now. its a hand me down and is in great condition with about 92,XXX miles on the ODO. well...it started burning oil last year, diagnosed as the valve guides going bad. $1800 job. we said no thanks and put "stop smoke" in. worked great. fast forward to last weds. we found out the truck was leaking coolant. so we added more and kept an eye on it. well...friday night i overheated (of course on my way to my date's house to pick her up to take her to a movie). put water in the radiator, drove it home. no problem. Sunday comes around and i went shopping. kept an eye on the coolant temp and had my heat blasting the whole time. almost overheats again. i notice that there is a heavy amount of water dripping out from around where the water pump is. so that kinda did it in for us. we dropped off the truck monday morning and diagnosed the problem as the head gasket and ....well....here i am right now.

you know....$1800 for all that stuff that i mentioned above really isnt that bad... thats also including labor

here's a picture of it for those who dont remember it..

i checked up on it today. "he" looks ok. the head's gone and i now realize how tiny my engine is

I would have said screw the truck and take a cab to her house. Worry about it in the morning.

hhahaha yeah the date went ok i guess...we were supposed to go to the movies but we ended up talking for about 3 hours. which was really nice. establishing that 1st date bond and all...

yes...she is very pretty.

i couldn't say screw the truck because it was in the left hand turn lane...and because i didnt have enough $$ for a cab >_< a police officer showed up and help me get across traffic over to a 7-11 across the street. i have a new respect for those guys
