This appeared on the front page of our local paper this morning.

Read article

I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing him on the road anytime soon.

So, whats the biggest ticket you have received?

In 92 I had a 90 Thunderbird SC with the stick shift.
Wife $ I were driving from TO to Kingston, and I was running late.
Got stopped at a trap near Port Hope, and even though I managed to slow down some, they still got me doing 160 in 100.

Back then it was $9.75 for each kilometer over the limit, an auto 30 day suspension, and 4 points (I think)

Anyways, I went to court, and they let me plead to 49 over, and that made a big difference, no suspension, 3 points, and only a $299. fine.

LMAO! "not hitting things..." LMAO

Spotsylvania county Virginia, driving a 1967 Pontiac GTO, 360 HP, 4-speed. Twice in one weekend in 1968. Sat. 2AM, 110 MPH on way from Ft. Belvoir,Va. to Charlotte, NC, Sunday 1PM, 85 MPH on way from Charlotte, NC to Ft. Belvoir, Va. Paid small fine (25 to 50 dollars) shipped out to Vietnam following Monday morning. Had my license suspended for a year. What a shame, couldn't drive for a whole year, no mopeds, rickshaws, etc. I had to get my Commanding Officer in Vietnam to have his signature notarized that I was in Vietnam for a year, and wouldn't return to terrorize the streets of Virginia. North Carolina followed suit the next week.
The criminal justice system at work!

Lightbulb Obligatory Units Conversion

225 km/h is about 140 MPH

C$1200 is about US$20

Actually it's around US$890.

For the record, my max for speeding was US$140. Taken on I-85 in Georgia.

I was getting ready to say...

The conversion from mpk to mph is like 0.65 (or something very close) so, that's only around 140-145 mph.... don't get me wrong, that's faster than I've ever gone in a vehicle but, it's not as hellish as it sounds.

Hitting the pavement at that speed would hurt FAR MORE than the ticket that he got.

MOST SPEED = 110 in a 55 (on a ninja zx6r)

MOST MONEY = $200 for 23 over the limit

MOST POINTS = reckless driving/ drag racing many years ago

None yet, but I'll probably be getting some when I'm done with the Trans Am, loud + attention getter + a couple miles over = ticket.

I'm sure a lightning guy or two has broke the 140mph mark. I've maybe been to 130 (in my stupid younger days) and it's not "THAT" fast unless you're in something no meant to go that fast (like a 89 chevy celebrity *cough*) I've been almost that fast in a 93 trans am and it's not that bad IMHO. I wouldn't want to bite it at that speed though. Or get a ticket.
