Help, garage door opener key pad

While dry walling my garage I unpluged the keyad for my Sears garage door opener. Now I have lost the programed code, and don't know where the instructions are.

Does anyone now the default code and how to program it again? It's an older style opener that requires a wire to run from the keypad to the opener to work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you mean the keypad that goes outside?
I have one of those, but it's not wired in, it's battery operated.
If this is the one, I can go get the directions on how to reprogram it (it's probably the same way)

Yeah, like Habibi said, if it's the outside keypad and it's like mine, it's battery operated...

Or are you talking about the one INSIDE the garage next to the door? I always thought those were hardwired to the lifting unit

Also, if you're poking around out there...

Jump up and look at the lifting unit itself. Check to see if you have a 'TRAIN' or 'LEARN' key up there. If so, DON'T PUSH IT... yet.

It's not the white one that Sears sells for their current garage door openers, it is the one for the openers they no longer stock. It's the brown one. It goes outside of the garage and when you type in the code, the door opens. I have it for my kids when they get home from school. It has a battery to maintain the code, but also can be plugged into an outlet. That model requires a wire to run from the button to the door opener. The new models can work on battery operated remotes. If your car comes with a door opener designed into the car it will not work with this opener. This model is before the train and learn feature, which makes things much easier.
