Explorer dimensions

A friend of mine in Fla. just bought a 2002 Explorer. She needs a bike rack to fit in the back. A guy here in NC makes stainless steel racks that slide in the back of SUV's. We want to surprise her with a bike rack. I need the dimensions of the inside of the rear hatch opening (width of the flat portion of the floor before it curves up into the side), and the clearance floor to ceiling, and length to the rear seat from the inside of the door when it's closed. Does anyone know if there is a website where this info. may be published?

thanks,
john

I'd ask you to post pics, but that would get this thread locked for sure. Were your bike shorts 'Richie Cunningham" plaid too?

My initial thought is to thank fonman, and say, "What the heck are you talking about RP? I have not a clue as to the reference to spandex and padded crotches......

BUT, then I remembered the picture of me and decided that playing dumb would only fan the flames of ridicule!
They sure have come a long way with the development of the crotch inserts. I remember riding with just a chamois sewn into the shorts, now with all the synthetics, they are almost a pleasure to wear, most are somewhat bacteria resistent, etc. But enough talk about my crotch, makes me nervous thinking about that fudgepacking picture.

Thanks again fonman, that is exactly what we needed. I will get these figures over to my welder, and a new rack will be on the way to Fla. by Friday.

I'm glad I could help with the bike-rack serotta, but everyone has to stop talking about their crotch. RIGHT NOW!!

LMFAO!!!!!! Yeah... you went a bit over the edge with the whole CROTCH thing there serotta.... I just mentioned it in passing... you took it to another level with the introduction of 'bacteria' along with the word 'crotch'.

When I was growing up, my Mother warned me about certain friends of mine. She called them "instigaters" (well, actually in deference to certain members of this board, I'll use the term "instiGATORS". I finally understand what she meant. You, RP, are a true instiGATOR. You start the thought, then back off and insinuate blame when others take the thought on a merry ride.
BUT, I must admit, the ride starts out rather mundane and ends up halarious.

Exactly. You think I stick around here for the information about trucks?
