What would you do for a 30 sec quarter?
What would you do for a 30 sec quarter?
Well, THIS guy did all this:
to his 1997 "F-Series Pickup"
To get this:
Here's a hint: lightning F150's that do 100mph in a quarter, do it in about 12 seconds. What was this guy doing for the other 18 seconds?

You guys should check out that guys site...he filled the toolbox/sub box deal with concrete. Has concrete in the floors to minimize vibration from the 8 12" subs that he has for audio competitions.
The idiot also shows a photo of his dash while supposedly doing 90+ mph pulling a 22,000 lb horse trailer. Give me a f-in break...there is no horse trailer that I have ever seen hooked to a pickup that weighs 22,000 lbs. Even if he did so how the heck would you be able to take a picture of it?
Some people should be shot.

What is it about all these people being from Jacksonville, Fl
Is that a F150 or a F250? his vehicle info just says F series. The vehicle can't be a 97 F150. One reason is that they changed the F150 style in 97, plus they didn't put 4 doors on it before the supercrew. So I guess it must be a F250. And what is up with the cement thing he done?

Well a couple of random thoughts.
It definitely is an F250. It's a diesel which was not offered in F150s. Also due to the cab type which was exclusive to the F250. Could be a 1997, maybe, as I believe Ford did the same thing when the 1997s were introduced as they are doing today which was they produced both the previous body style and the new one during an overlapping period of time (the Heritage bit).
As to the horsepower numbers and the ET and trap time, it really does not add up to me. That motor should make considerably more hp with the mods he has for sure. With that in mind, a 13 second quarter ET and a 100 mph trap time would not be at all out of line. I have read many posts and seen many videos of modded Ford diesels that can make those times. Maybe a typo??
As to the weight issues, I could not find the gross weight for an F250 Crew Cab but 8700 sounds a tad high. I did find the towing capacity was 12,500 lbs so 22,000 or whatever for that boat may be a reach. Again, I was not there but aside from the suicidal aspect of it I seriously wonder if the truck could make 100 mph at a total gross weight of some 31,000 lbs. Of course again, I have clocked more than one Kenworth or Peterbilt at over 100 mph that probably grossed 80,000 lbs. but they were powered a bit differently.
Hope someone in FL can track this one down. It was an interesting story.

I'd have liked to seen him put that toolbox filled with concrete on the truck. I bet that was a pita. Also he disses best buy and you can get the head unit there. I personally would never cut the back out of a truck cab just to put some speakers in. I take that back I bet he is hitting those numbers. Wish he was in dbdrag so we could get his real specs.

A GCW of 31,000 lbs and only the puny stock Ford brakes to slow down! I'm glad he's 1000's of miles away from me.
The brakes on all of the earlier Ford 250's and 350s are marginal at stopping an empty truck alone. never mind an extra 25k lbs.
On the other hand I have tow started a Mack towing a bull dozer with the company's F-350 pickup. The truck weighed appx. 20k, the trailer 9k and the dozer about 24k. For a total weight of 53k pounds that the pickup towed!!
Of course this was in low range and I only pulled it about 15 feet. We were on a slight down hill grade too, so really I just had to get the truck rolling a little.
