Wierd found this

This is very interesting! Spooky, but true!

Since America is typically represented by an eagle, the terrorists should
have read up on Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)

Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a
fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands
of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more
rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and
there was peace.

Note the verse number !!!!!

I grabbed my Holy Quran from my book shelf, and attempted the confirm the post.
So far I'm not having any luck.
If anyone else has a Quran, please take a look and maybe you can find what I missed.

The Quran is difficult to read, but this is what I found so far:

"Spoils of War" Part 9 - .11
Remember he covered you with drowsiness, to give you calm as from himself, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satin, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith"

Repentance - IX, 9
"But (even so) if they repent, establish regular prayers, and pay Zakat they are your bretheren in faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand"

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to verify the above post, but no luck so far.
Looks like the Quaran will be my bedside reading tonight.

Let me know if anyone else can verify this, I'm inclined to think it's BS at the moment, but stranger things have happened.

Your friend may be right also, but I just can't find the quote.
(I'm still looking)

Not sure if you ever picked up a Quarn, but it's really confusing for people who arnt used to it.
I need more time, I will know by tomorrow.

I took a peek myself I couldn't find anything in an online version. I didn't see anything that resembled that. I'm not gonna go through the whole thing looking for some obscure reference, but I the above quote may have been a distortion at least. *shrug* Habibi sound a lot more informed on the subject (first time I've ever looked at it myself, I should read more ) I did run across this though.......

PICKTHAL: He it is Who hath caused those of the People of the Scripture who disbelieved to go forth from their homes unto the first exile. Ye deemed not that they would go forth, while they deemed that their strongholds would protect them from Allah. But Allah reached them from a place whereof they recked not, and cast terror in their hearts so that they ruined their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn a lesson, O ye who have eyes!

It's no wonder the likes of Bin Laden can twist this thing into whatever suits their purpose.

Good job you two.
As some of you know, I work in the UAE a few weeks each year, and thus, have made some Arabic friends.

I picked up a Holy Quran a couple of years ago to get a better understanding of the Muslim faith / culture.

I remember right after 9/11 took place, someone was telling me how Muslims were "bad news", and how the Quran was filled with evil propaganda against non Muslims.

So what is the best weapon in a debate? Knowledge, this is why I acquired the Quran, and started reading it during my travels.
If there was some evil ***** in there, I wanted to read it myself.

Granted, I haven't read the whole thing yet, but pretty darn close, and I can honestly tell you, I haven't read anything that looks bad to me, or something that says "go kill whitey and all the non believers for it is written"

Now I love the internet because there's some really good info to be had on here, and fast, but the internet is also a cesspool of bull*****, and it's up to us to try to keep it as honest as possible (if that's possible)

Spoke with friend and he admits to lying about the verse.

I Apologize for insulting the intelligence of all of you who have read the post. Next time I will engage the brain instead of the heart first. I should have known better.

I got that email a few weeks ago. Right away I didn't believe it, and checked it truthorfiction.com - as cool as it sounds, it is total fiction.

Not to be a preacher or anything but Satan's greatest tools are those of modern day media outlets such as internet, newspaper TV, movies, etc.

I don't know about you guys but when they say 2 people got killed/murdered/mutilated or whatever I honestly do not want to see pictures of that. I think all the bombardment by the media with that type stuff is numbing out the compassion in the human race.

Don't get me wrong, I am not into censorship because anyone can just change the channel but I am simply pointing out what my feelings are on the subject.
