Isnt it when someone/something has a defect or is guilty of something?

Like for example....This switch is "faulty"!

The verb "faulty" describes the noun "switch" or something like that. I haven't taken an english class in 9 years so I'm not sure if that's right. So "faulty" not a "thing", or a noun. It describes something, so it's an adjective or verb or something.

Fault is a noun. Faulty is an adjective.

The addition of a "y" to a noun can often result in an adjective, much in the way that adding "ly" to a verb generally results in an adverb.

Cool

Never heard of A faulty.

But I have heard of The Faulty.

http://www.thefaulty.com/

So a faulty is probably one of the faulty's members or fans.

I have heard of a fault (as in a fault line - i.e. the San Andreas or New Madrid faults)
