Just got an email from "Microsoft"
It said to "use this patch immediatly"
Anyway, my norton picked it up right away when the email downloaded from my server, and I quarantined and deleted it.
Since when does Microsoft send "patches" as attachments anyways?
Regards

um, I'd be intrested to know how microsoft got your email addy. They sure don't have mine.
Nobody sends you patches. Most proggys have built in sytems of notification for updates, and you are instrcuted to DL them from the software makers website. For instance, my AV has a pop up to tell me when there are new defs to DL.

Exactly ATST,
Now Norton caught it as it was dling, but I still wouldve known it was a fake because all my patches come from the auto update.
Not that I'm the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this I knew.
I wonder how many people will actually open the attachment?
More than we realize is what I would suspect.

Besides the fact that a company wouldn't use this terminology:
"Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now!
There are dangerous virus in the Internet now!
More than 500.000 already infected!"
did you read DUMRU as an acronym of DUM are You?
Ha, Ha, good one!
