Progressive Auto Insurance?

Anybody use them? Any problems or seem to be customer-friendly? I retrieved a quote on insurance for 2 cars that was $50 a month cheaper than my State Farm. I'm going tomorrow to talk to a real person and see if this is really true, sounds like a great deal! Thanks in advance for the responses

I have had them for several years and one claim against them and have had NO PROBLEM'S!! Any other ins. company wants to charge double what I pay now. I had Ford Motor Co. call me to get me to switch to them and they wanted MORE for six months than I paid for a YEAR!!!!!

Cool

I had a company car for 8 years or so. During that time, I had no automotive insurance.

Company changes policy and now I get an auto allowance. So, I go to buy a truck (my 98 Scab) and almost fall over when I find out how much insurance prices have increased !!

At the time I'm 35, no tickets or accidents, never a claim, etc. Geico ends up being the only company who will pick me up, and then it is for a 6 month "trial run" that cost me $900.

Well, after 6 months, they aren't going to lower my bill. I happen to get a paper in the mail from Progressive saying "Give us a chance". So, I called and they insured me for a whole year for $780 !!

Kept them for 2 years and when I bought the 'Screw, they wanted $1600 for the year ?

So, now I'm with Allstate. $950 a year, with more coverage than before.

I guess the moral of the story is: SHOP SHOP SHOP !! Don't let them hold you hostage, especially if you have a good driving record.

I know you didn't ask about Geico but...

They're awesome...

I've had ONE claim with them in the past 5 years and, from the time that I rear ended a 82 Olds to the time I was meeting with an adjuster... Only 1 hour and 15 minutes had lapsed. I had my 97 Blazer back in 36 hours after 4K worth of damage.

I contacted the lady that I hit to ensure that she was getting good service out of them and she said that it was so good that she had already switched her coverage over to them.

They, to date, are still the lowest guy on the block for me and I have no intentions on leaving....

Just another option....

There are alot of variables and no one perfect company for everyone.
I have GEICO but, no loyalty to them, I shop around periodically including Progressive. For me, Progressive was more than GEICO.
So far, everyone has been more than GEICO.

I have Eerie Insurance. I looked into Prgoressive claims about being cheaper, and they were by about $10/year, with half the coverage of what I have w/ Eerie.

If you have an Eerie agent in your area, call them up. I've never seen anyone w/ better rates, and I've never had a problem w/ them paying on claims. I also have my home insurance w/ them, which also gets me a discount.

Progressive is one of my insurance agents I am currently going though. I love the 24 hour call us if you need to option, and adding a car is soooo easy. Plus, you can make changes to your policy online when ever you need to. I find this very handy.

I've had 2 claims with them (neither one my fault) and they handled it very well. No problems with them, if they beat everyone else's rates, I say go for it.

However, I would stay away from NationWide.

I recently switched to Kemper Direct. They saved me about 30%. Full coverage on two vehicles. Since I just switched I can't comment of customer service, but setting up the policy was a breeze. I had American Family Mutual, and found them to be the cheapest for the last three years. I check premiums every year.

I agree with B man Shop around all of the time. Once they think they have you the rates will go up.

My sister is in the insurance business so I am kind of obligated to buy mine through her. But she also handles the solutions to any problems I may have much faster than anyone else could hope to.

Fender bender on Sunday morning = check before Sunday brunch. And no police report.
