Ford is pissing me off!

My dad's 97 thunderbird quit yesterday, and they think it's the head gasket. That makes 3 Ford's we've had that have had head gasket problems, ALL WITH DIFFERENT ENGINES! My dad is considering going out and getting a TUNDRA! Ford is really letting us down and is really pissing me off!

Well I believe Ford's position on the matter is:

Look Again

That does suck, and since Ford knows they INDEED have a problem with head gaskets they should be taken care of their customers. Let's see how many problems they actually fixed with the 04's and how many new ones they introduced...

While I agree that Ford pisses people off. You do not list mileage or service history. You are comparing to different vehicles. A T-bird that quit, and a foreign truck. Sounds like he wants a new vehicle anyway.

The question I have is. Does he want the American built Toyota, or the Japanese built Toyota? I don't know what Toyota quality is like today, but several years ago the Japanese built truck was built better than the American built Toyota.

So if you get my reply. All car manufacturers have the same quality concerns.

Mike

Question

Decoy,
What size engines were they? I have heard many bad reports about the 3.8L, V-6 having head gasket problems.

So are the 4.2 V-6, Guess it is a problem with all Ford engines. Sounds like they need MUCH BETTER quality control...

I don't think it got a lot better just because the new 04, maybe a "little" better, but not a lot...
