The house looks beautiful, good luck. But please explain that "token" tree in the front yard. Did the contractor have a couple of bucks to spare and decided to screw up your lawn mowing pattern?

Exactly what I was thinkin Serotta.. Who wants a little itty bitty tiny tree that just looks ugly?? Probably the contractor didn't have enough sod

So, the bank OFFICIALLY OWNS ANOTHER HOME.. and lucky for them I'm going to live in it!

We closed this morning... I've already moved two truck loads out there today (we're going to gradually move in over a period of a week or so...)

I never dreamed how handy the bed extender would be... that thing, along with my bungee stretch cover (to drape over the boxes in the back) are worth their weight in GOLD!

Thanks again guys...

Was that the picture for "You insert the caption"?

Then: " Another soul signs away thirty years just to give the paper boy a new target."

Congrats on the home. It's a great feeling isn't it?

Kinda weird actually. My wife and I were over there last night doing a little cleaning and a few of our friends showed up. We sat there on the floor of our EMPTY house and drank a few beers and just enjoyed talking and BS'ing...

I guess you could say that it hasn't sunk in 'yet'.

The refrigerator is to be delievered today... maybe that'll help.

Yeah, I ran the gambit amoung elation, indifference and buyers remorse. After you get settled and everything really sinks in, the feeling of satisfaction will come, it's a nice feeling.

Who knows, you might like the feeling of satisfaction so much you'll trade your K Ranch for a GM.

LOL... I wouldn't bank on that one...

I'm definately still having all kinds of weird emotions though. In one sense, I'm anxious to get in and get things situated... all the while I'm thinking, how much money did I just spend (and then that damn form that I signed at closing showing how much my house will cost if I take it to the full 30-year term... which was well over TWICE the purchase price)... I got 5 3/8 on the rate so, I'm pretty excited about that but, just seeing what it'll end up costing if I pay on it for 30 years was VERY depressing.

All the while I'm still stressed out with moving and such too. Will this roller coaster end? LOL!

That amortization table is kind of scary but when you look at how much extra payments really cost it takes the fear out of it. You should be able to make double and triple payments for the first several years pain free. And since you are going to have to pay somebody to live some where anyway you may as well have something to show for it.

Mixed emotions are normal. Anyone who is truthful will admit to them after their first home purchase. Plus wait till you see your tax return after the first full twelve months of making payments. Don't forget to claim all of your closing costs this year too.

Anyway it looks like you have a really nice new home to start your family and future in. Good luck and best wishes.
