Sad Day for Minnesotans and the Hockey World

Maybe you were too young to remember this, or perhaps weren't even born yet, but Herb Brooks and the US guys pulled off the greatest upset in sports history. One of those events you remember exactly where you were when it happened.

Herb Brooks was killed yesterday in a traffic accident here in Minnesota; thrown from vehicle; not wearing seat belt.

Please all: buckle up!

Well written article, thanks for the link. I heard about Brooks on the news yesterday evening. Ran out of miracles, glad he orchestrated that one in 1980. Hardly seems like over 20 years ago.

A sad day for all. A sad reminder to wear your seat belt. The van looked like it was in pretty good shape for having rolled over, but if you get thrown from the vehicle, it doesn't matter.

He will be missed - one of the true Minnesota hockey legends...
