As Chaos's wife mentioned, Pork Rinds. They do become a very good snack. Especially when you dip them in cream cheese. Both of these items are on the diet. I ate at least one bag a day of them. The BBQ ones are the best. It's as close as you can get to chips and dip and is very good.
The Atkins diet is a safe diet and has been aroud for over thirty years. This diet was originally created for diabetic patients. If you follow the plan including going to the maintenance portion you will have no health problems. I dropped 45 pounds when I was on it a few years ago. I felt awesome had lot's of energy and of course looked good.
I also agree from seeing some of you pics that you don't need to diet at all.

Atkins snacktime, try beef jerky comes in a variety of flavors now. Can even make it yourself. Can carry it anywhere, no refrigeration needed. Leave it in the console of the truck, acts as an air freshener. Nothing like the aroma of freshly dried beef as an accent to the leather seat smell.
Hey... thanks to all of those that actually took the time to give me some answers to my original quesiton.
This past weekend, I found a new snack. My mom used to do this years ago and I thought she was out of her mind. Fried Provolone Cheese. Not deep-fried, pan fried. Put it in a hot pan, let it fry up till it's all bubbly and almost brown on one side, then flip it, let it get all brown and it's AWESOME! Like crunchy cheesy chips... OMG, it's soo good.
I'm gonna take a look at that Suzanne Summers diet, cuz I'm really missing my fruit. I can live without the bread and pasta carbs, but not eating fruit is killing me!
SCREWED in NC - I have a Macaw, Moluccan C0ckatoo, AFrican grey and two chattering lories - and if the sun is up, THEY'RE up... When I get up, if I don't hear them, I'll take a shower and get ready for work first, but if they hear my alarm clock and it's light out, they start making noise... and if I don't tend to them RIGHT away, they let the whole house know it's time to wake up... lol
Again, thanks for everyone's help, even tho ya'all say I don't have anything to lose... I've lost 5 pounds, and only have 5-7 more to go...

Jenn,
No doubt the "grab it and go" snacks are the tough part of Atkins. My wife got some of the Atkins bars for such situations, and we're both tiring of pork rinds quickly.
With a little extra planning, it's easier to make quicky stuff to have on hand. Boiled and deviled eggs, salads, snack sausage and pepperoni, etc. can all be put in Tupperware for emergencies. There are also plenty of things that you can cook and store that will heat quickly in a microwave. Bacon is good for this, and your new found fried cheese might work as well.
Keep low carb bread on hand, and you can throw together a sandwich. My wife has found that what she misses most is the real "junk food". By being cautious through the day she can avoid almost all carbs, and get away with some ice cream or something "junky" and still stay within her carb limit.
I've said for years I thought all the statements on fat intake were wrong. Being a tried and true meat lover I would weigh 500 lbs if red meat and fats were really as bad as some claim.

I'm with gator on this one. Seriously though when ever I want to lose some weight, I eat a bowl of corn flakes or special k in the morning, a tuna or chicken sandwich for lunch, and around 5pm I start drinking. (hard liquor works the best) You'll feel so full after the first couple of drinks and by the time you'd be hungry you'll be too *****faced to eat. I lost 23# in the last 2-3 weeks. Oh yeah, exercize at least a little.

Dude, cruise over to Wally World and look into their Vitamin / Diet food section. They have a lot of the Atkins and imitation diet foods. You can eat their candy bars even in the first two weeks of Atkins. Atkins also makes the only chocolate shake I can drink without gagging.
I eat Carbolite choco/almond bars as snacks (3 carbs), a shake for after dinner (2 carbs) and a bottle of Michelob Ultra (3,5 carbs) after work. There is even Low carb icecream (6 carbs for two scoops) and TV dinners (9 carbs) in the frozen food section.
After all that and lots of steak, Bratwurst, Cajun sausage, BBQ burgers etc I lost 30 lbs so far and never felt better.
If Walmart doesn't have it try Eckerts, Walgreens or any of the Pharmacy places.

As with any life changing process it is always going to be tuff to stick to it, every time I mumble to myself "man I am so sick of meat cheese eggs & pork rinds"...I remind myself what i will look like if I stop trying, & it usually works for me, I have a bad slip up once a week or so I will eat one meal I should'nt & that's fine if you get right back to sticking to your guns so to speak.
People who don't have a fat problem will never understand what people go thru that Have had a fat problem thier entire lives, The atkins diet does work for people & it has been working for me.
I had lost over 75 pounds at one point about 4 months back & then I just went thru a period of about 2 months where I just let go...thru a few holidays & my own birthday party, & it's not that I went crazy either I only ate the things every normal skinny person would eat, & I gained almost 40 pounds back in that short time. So what I'm getting at is it is going to be a battle for me the rest of my life that's all there is to it.......you can never give up, if you do chances are you will die early if you are extremely over wieght.... that's all I remind myself when ever i think about cheating more than once a week.....I am currently slowly on my way back down the scale...one day at a time, I also try to ride my bike every afternoon 12 miles
Atkins may stil be considerd skeptical to some people ...but the bottom line is , it has worked the best for me. better than any diet I have ever been on before, & as mentioned above there are different stages of the diet...You do add a few fruits & vegies back into your diet a little at a time as you get closer to your goals.

Thanks nasf150... I appreciate your reply.
I'm almost to the point where I can say that I don't crave the foods I used to eat. I'm seeing results, and that's enough incentive for me!
Keep up the good work!

Sorry, didn't realize Wally World = Wallmart. Yep, we have a ton of those around here.
Dang, and I thought there was a new store out there called Wally World where Chevy Chase was the head cashier.
Mr Old V8 - I found Jungle Jims!! Have you been there? What a GREAT store! I especially LOVE their cheese department, and their deli! Although, last week when we were there, they had FRESH PIG HEADS, LAMB and DUCK heads in the produce section. The duck heads were funny because there were like 10 of them in the package, all lined up in a row...
