minority coaches

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/030728/6/u2ff.html This is something that has bothered me for a long while. I’m talking about NFL football, but most of this holds true for all professional team sports. We trust teams to pick the best players for their teams and pay them accordingly regardless of race. The demographics of the league seem to support that race is not a factor in hiring of players. Few question the ridiculous amounts of money that pro athletes are paid, yet I’ve heard several of these millionaire players question the lack of minority coaches in their league. I’ve heard them say that the coach demographics should match the player demographics. Why don’t the league players have to match the demographics of our society? Perhaps it is because it is the nature and in best interest of teams to hire the best people to reach their goals whether it is making the Super Bowl or just drawing enough fans to make their payroll. They are already hiring the people who are the best fit for them, and race is not a factor.

The Detroit Lions knew whom they wanted, went for him, and hired him. Now they are being fined $200,000, because they didn’t interview a minority candidate. The league says it may fine the next team $500,000 if they don’t interview a minority for the head coach job while they are looking. It seems like complete BS to me. If it can be proven that a team is refusing to employ because of race, then throw the book at them. It sure doesn’t seem to be the case here.

I think we should all adopt the policy I adopted years ago. I do not attend a pro sporting event unless the tickets are FREE.

When the government, or any other governing body, can tell private business how, when, who and what to hire then it's time to get in a different business. There's still plenty of money to be made from owning sports teams or people would be getting out of it, instead of trying to buy more of them.

I hear this story the other night on a FM radio talk show. I could NOT friggin believe it! Jesse Jackson started this Bull$****.

Now when are they going to address the demographics of basketball.......by hiring more Whites and Chinese players.

Affirmative Action is NOT about equal rights.....It's about SPECIAL RIGHTS!

Brother don't KID yourself........It's COMING.

Now recently Football but now add: colleges, State Police, Local Police, Fire Departments, any Government or City job opening, Awarding of Government and City contracts.......But NOT NASCAR.

The recent Supreme Court decision has just thrown open the door!

I don't care so much for myself anymore after having a baby. He is 14 months old and I look at him and think - what am I going to say to him? I can't tell him what my Dad told me, get good grades, go to college and stay out of trouble and you can be/do anything you want. Now if he studies hard, gets great grades in HS, does real well on his SAT's but gets bumped from the college of his choice by someone who DOES NOT deserve to be there but is the right COLOR. WTF.

Instead of being in college surrounded by the best students....he is going to learn more but sitting next to a black or hispanic person. If this theory is soooo true how come all professional sports teams are not beefing up diversity on their teams?

Jesse "I don't care about minorities except for them to keep me in power" Jackson has tried flucking with Nascar. The past week Nascar told Jesse to basically fluck himself...

And your right Jesse does NOT care about "equal" rights, only holding back minorities and continuing to tell them how stupid they are and since they are to stupid to think for themselves they need Jesse as their savior....

01,

I feel certain at this stage in my life I won't be in NH anytime soon, but if you ever swing through NC, I'm buying the beer! You can drink holding it with your left or right hand.

Yep, its been going on for at least the begining of the season. A lot of Nascar fans were VERY upset that Nascar had gave in to the "shake down" of Jesse. Nascar gave some money to the Rainbow Shake Down Inc.
