How many are you drinking in the 5 - 10 minutes until the screen goes blurry...

Ok, that was mean, but funny...

How old is your monitor? Maybe the tube is going out.

Start checking the sales ads for new monitors. Yours is going to quit on you after all the sales are over, and when the stores are closed for the evening.

You could try a degauss.

Here is another question.

Do you have any other elelctric devices close to the monitor, like a stero, microwave etc? That may cause some problems.

CORDLESS PHONE!!! Get that sucker away. I don't know what kind of monitor but I have a flat pannel and those things will tear mine apart if I'm not careful.

If the degaus works only for a little while you might want to look at getting a new monitor. A lot of times degausing will cure distortions. The cordless phone you would probably be able to tell if it was a problem when it rings. The only other thing is the speakers, they usually leave funky colors around the areas where they are near. Normal computer speakers won't do that though, only big magnet speakers.

My old monitor used to blank out on me until I realized that it wasnt plugged in all the way? Check your plugs.

I had a monitor that would do that until you changed the screen size to 800 x 600. Your monitor is probably going bad. Before I threw the thing away I set a 12 inch subwoofer on top it. The screen turned all sorts of pretty colors.
