XL vs. XLT

As a new Ford and new Truck owner I am confused about alot of things...(another thread for another day). That being said, what is the difference between the XL and the XLT?

I have an XL...which I am sure is the lesser of the 2, I'm just not sure what I am missing out on.

You are missing the 'T'.

The XL is for those that don't want to worry about their power windows or power door locks breaking.

If one did want 'power' this and that, the XLT would have been cheaper than adding a bunch of stuff to an XL.(If Ford didn't package other items into the XLT which drives up the price)

I am a BoSox fan, what is the significance of '1007'?

so T is just the powered accessories...I get it. So I have an XLA...(powered by Armstrong)

the 1007 is from the days of the beeper being cool, and the even cooler need to have a number you could page people so they knew it was you. It just stuck over the years.

I have a great feeling about the Sox this year...but I think at least 1 person has every single year since 1918.

Yeah, I heard the report on that kid.

Positive - Doesn't even wear batting gloves.

Negative - Rolls socks up and down six times between every pitch.

Its a 2001 XL Sport. I just bought it a month ago. It's my first truck, and I am loving it. I have no clue how to do anything to it, except drive it.

Great...so he'll take longer than his brother to actually get in the box to hit. What ever works....Not many are better than Nomar, so I'll take all his quirky things

I have an XL as well. I hate power windows and power door locks. When they break, its $110 to fix each window. XL's are also V6, 4.2 is enough for my single cab.

I have an XLT Sport. What exactly does the "Sport" package do? I thought it was the painted grill surround and painted rear bumper and flareside, but I have seen Sports with none of those.

Is the sport package just that ugly sticker on my back fender or what?

Not sure what is extra in the sport. I have the XLT sport also, and I was told that the T in XLT added like 15hp, and that the sticker on the back added an additional 10hp...

So if any of you with the XL want another 25hp just get the XLT badge and the Sport sticker and you will be all set...
