Thumbs up Let's talk VTEC

1. VTEC is spelt out VTEC. It is an ACRONYM (sp?). It's not Vtec, Vtech, vtec, v-tec, or anything like that. IT'S VTEC!
2. Just because you have VTEC in your Civic does not give you the reason to think that you are "m@D tYt3 j0!"
3. VTEC is a type of what we people who don't sniff from the fart pipe call electronically controlled valve timing. While it can give you a good amount of power on demand, it only exists in higher RPMs. It was made specifically for better mileage.
4. Placing stickers on your car announcing that you have VTEC WILL NOT make people bow to your presence.
5. Thinking that VTEC will provide you with enough power to beat a car that you know is faster than you is not smart.
6. Associating VTEC with the phrase "Type R" will not make people who do not sniff from the fart pipe think that you have a "special edition Civic"
7. You are a loser if you think that VTEC is God.
8. VTEC Tuned or VTEC Tuning does not your engine was tuned by a special company.

feel free to add anything else i might've missed in a numbered list.

Bottom line is a Honda VTEC is better than a non-VTEC. I had a Contour that had variable exhaust valve timing and in really made that four banger come to life!

If you have to drive an econo-box, your better off having one with the technology to get out of it's own way.

I'm looking forward to seeing what variable cam timing does for Fords Triton motors!

No VTEC isn't going to make an econo-box a race winner, but it's a step in the right direction.

and for heaven sake... dont put VTEC stickers on a non-Honda!

like the Toyota Previa minivan I saw this morning....

1) its a minivan doofus! live with it. There is no such thing as a minivan GT! You can drop a Lightning engine in a Windstar... but its still a minivan.

2) Its a Previa guy. Its not even a new truck (pardon that term)! Even with variable valves.... you probably have lost so must compression it doesnt matter anymore

3) Toyota is V V T loser, not VTEC

LMAO @ J-150

It would be such a waste to put a Lightning engine into a freaking minivan, the school bus from hell...

Not as bad as the F150 I saw with a fartpipe. No I'am not kidding either. It was sad. Looked like a nice truck otherwise.
