Anybody know of any engineering jobs?
Anybody know of any engineering jobs?
I'm graduating college in three weeks, and I don't have a job yet
Anybody know of any company hiring? I don't care where I move (within reason). I'm graduating with an Industrial Engineering degree. Just thought I'd ask in case someone knows of a position open somewhere. Thanks ahead for any responses

decoy,
First of all, congrats on your upcoming graduation and secondly, you still probably have time to fail something so you can stay in college. Here's a hint. STAY AS LONG AS FEASABLY POSSIBLE! THE REAL WORLD SUCKS! COLLEGE RULES! STAY THERE AS LONG AS YOU CAN!
HAHA!
Seriously though, in my line of work (geology), I run across engineers all the time. They're typically structural or civil wanting to discuss competent bedrock for building stability however; most of them have a slew of 'interns' running around for them. They pick up and drop off cores, push paper, and become a general gopher. Most of the interns I've seen are engineering school grads that are working on getting their time in to take their PE exam.
From that perspective, I suggest that you hit the trail and look for something like this. I'd dare say most engineering students don't walk right out the door and into a position of their dreams (this is true for geology as well) but, by starting at the bottom of the pecking order, you have no other way to go but up.
I'll keep my eyes peeled around here for something that might be up your alley.
Indistrial engineering... I assume that you'll be looking at efficiency and design on a manufacturing level? Is that your specilaization? If so, I can point you in the direction of a firm here in Louisville that deals with this type of thing. I don't think they have openings at the moment but, sewing seeds is what you need to be doing right now.
Again, best of luck and fail a couple of finals to ensure longevity in college. Sure wish I would've done that now...

Go get a graduate degree. I finished in Computer Engineering and the job market was complete crap. I went get my MBA instead of pursuing a graduate degree in EE. This past year has been a blast because it's been nothing like undergrad.
Now hopefully in a year the job market won't be as crappy, and I can find a good job.

I'm a mechanical engineer and the job market here in Kentucky is not that great for my line of work. I have been looking a little and not much happening out there - though I am employed. I would also recommend getting your masters. Good luck.

I agree w/ RP - stay in school as long as you can!
I remember those days - no classes before 1 PM, or on Fridays...
Now it's be in the office by 8, and stay until 5 on Fridays
go to grad school!
...I just wish they would've accepted me...
Oh and don't worry about the GRE - it's designed to make you feal stupid (the prep books don't do it justice)

How do you feel aboput moving to MA ? I work as an industrial application engineer for a pump manufacture here in Boston (well, just north of Boston), and we just lost a guy in our environmental division. Check us out at watson-marlow.com
