"You worry me. I wish you didn't. I wish when I walked down the streets of this country that I love, that your color and culture still blended with the beautiful human landscape we enjoy in this country. But you don't blend in anymore. I notice you, and it worries me. I notice you because I can't help it anymore. People from your homelands, professing to be Muslims, have been attacking and killing my fellow citizens and our friends for more than 20 years now. I don't fully understand their grievances and hate, but I know that nothing can justify the inhumanity of their attacks.

On September 11, nineteen ARAB-MUSLIMS hijacked four jetliners in my country. They cut the throats of women in front of children and brutally stabbed to death others. They took control of those planes and crashed them into buildings killing thousands of proud fathers, loving sons, wise grandparents, elegant daughters, best friends, favorite coaches, fearless public servants, and children's mothers.

So I notice you now. I don't want to be worried. I don't want to be consumed by the same rage and hate and prejudice that has destroyed the soul of these terrorists. But I need your help. As a rational American, trying to protect my country and family in an irrational and unsafe world, I must know how to tell the difference between you, and the Arab/Muslim terrorist.

How do I differentiate between the true Arab-Muslim-Americans and the Arab-Muslims in our communities who are attending our schools, enjoying our parks, and living in OUR communities under the protection of OUR constitution, while they plot the next attack that will slaughter those very same good neighbors and children?

The events of September 11th changed the answer. It is not my responsibility to determine which of you embraces our great country, with ALL of it's religions, with ALL of it's different citizens, with all of it's faults.

It is time for every Arab-Muslim in this country to determine it for me.

I want to know, I demand to know, and I have a right to know whether or not you love America. Do you pledge allegiance to it's flag? Do you proudly display it in front of your house, or on your car? Do you pray in your many daily prayers that Allah will bless this nation? That He will protect and prosper it?

Or do you pray that Allah with destroy it in one of your "Jihads"? Are you thankful for the freedom that only this nation affords? A freedom that was paid for by the blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots who gave their lives for this country? Are you willing to preserve this freedom by paying the ultimate sacrifice? Do you love America? If this is your commitment, then I need YOU to start letting ME know about it.

Your Muslim leaders in this nation should be flooding the media aat this time with hard facts on your faith, and what hard actions you are taking as a community and as a religion to protect the United States of America. Please, no more benign overtures of regret for the death of the innocent because I worry about who you regard as innocent. And no more benign overtures of condemnation for the unprovoked attacks because I worry about what is unprovoked to you. I am not interested in any more sympathy...I am only interested in action. What will you do for America - our great country -- at this time of crisis, at this time of war?

I want to see Arab-Muslims waving the AMERICAN flag in the sstreets. I want to hear you chanting "Allah Bless America." I want to see young Arab-Muslim men enlisting in the military. I want to see a commitment of money, time, and emotion to the victims of this butchering and to this nation as a whole.

The FBI has a list of over 400 people they want to talk to regarding the WTC attack. Many of these people live and socialize in Muslim communities. You know them. You know where they are. Hand them over to us, now!

But I have seen little even approaching this sort of action. Instead I have seen an already closed and secretive community close even tighter. You have disappeared from the streets. You have posted armed security guards at your facilities. You have threatened lawsuits. You have screamed for protection from reprisals.

The very few Arab-Muslim representatives that HAVE appeared in the media were defensive and equivocating. They seemed more concerned with making sure that the United States prove who was responsible before taking action. They seemed more concerned with protecting their fellow Muslims from violence directed towards them in the United States and abroad than they did with supporting our country and denouncing "leaders" like Khadafi, Hussein, Farrakhan, and Arafat. If the true teachings of Islam proclaim tolerance and peace and love for all people then I want chapter and verse from the Koran and statements from popular Muslim leaders to back it up. What good is it if the teachings in the Koran are good and pure and true when your "leaders" are teaching fanatical interpretations, terrorism, and intolerance.

It matters little how good Islam SHOULD BE if large numbers of the world's Muslims interpret the teachings of Mohammed incorrectly and adhere to a degenerative form of the religion. A form that has been demonstrated to us over and over again. A form whose structure is built upon a foundation of violence, death, and suicide. A form whose members are recruited from the prisons around the world. A form whose members defended Johnny Cochran and O. J. Simpson after the latter butchered his wife and murdered an innocent friend. A form whose members (some as young as five years old) are seen day after day, week in and week out, year after year, marching in the streets around the world, burning effigies of our presidents, burning the American flag, shooting weapons into the air. A form whose members convert from a peaceful religion, only to take up arms against the great United States of America, the country of their birth. A form whose rules are so twisted, that their traveling members refuse to show their faces at airport security checkpoints, in the name of Islam.

Do you and your fellow Muslims hate us because our women proudly show their faces in public rather than cover up like a shameful *****?

Do you and your fellow Muslims hate us because we drink wine with dinner, or celebrate Christmas? Do you and your fellow muslims hate us because we have befriended Israel, the ONLY civilized democratic nation in the entire middle-east? And if you and your fellow Muslims hate us, then why in the world are you even here?

Are you here to take our money? Are you here to undermine our peace and stability? Are you here to destroy us? If so, I want you to leave. I want you to go back to your desert sandpit where women are treated like rats and dogs. I want you to take your religion, your friends, and your family back to your Islamic extremists, and STAY THERE!

We will NEVER give in to your influence, your retarded mentality, your twisted, violent, intolerant religion. We will NEVER allow the attacks of September 11, or any others for that matter, to take away that which is so precious to us: Our rights under the greatest constitution in the world.

I want to know where every Arab-Muslim in this country stands and I think it is my right and the right of every true citizen of this country to demand it. A right paid for by the blood of thousands of my brothers and sisters who died protecting the very constitution that is protecting you and your family. I am pleading with you to let me know. I want you here as my brother, my neighbor, my friend, as a fellow American. But there can be no gray areas or ambivalence regarding your allegiance and it is up to YOU, to show ME, where YOU stand."

It's some of the most pitiful, racist trash I've ever read, composed by a small mind. I find it difficult to believe the author is capable of flying a plane.

 

B-man...I think your post spells-out the way a lot of Americans feel, but are afraid to admit in public. With liberal-inspired political correctness having gotten out of control in our country, people are affraid to call a spade a spade.

I've got two Muslim friends, the one who has melded into our society would probably agree with a lot of what was said in your post...The other guy, very 'by the book', is more closed and very 'into' his community of fellow Muslims. I don't want to get into a religious discussion here, but for what it's worth...this #2 guy was telling me how his religion hasn't changed in hundreds of years, and it is this stability that he and other ultra-conservative Muslims believe in. His wife wears the black head-gear and walks behind him. If he is on a long flight or in an all day meeting...he disappears to the men's room, cause he has to do his prayers.

When religion rules one's life to the extent of some of these people, its hard to reason with them let alone get inside of them. They refuse to fully adapt to our culture. Racist? That term is used too losely. Sometimes the truth just hurts.

Your Union leaders in this nation should be flooding the media at this time with hard facts on your temperance, and what hard actions you are taking as a group to promote total abstinence in the indulgence of alcoholic liqueurs. Please, no more benign overtures of ‘I don’t drink’ because I worry about what you regard as drinking. And no more benign overtures of condemnation of others drinking because I worry about what you think consumption is in others. I am not interested in any more sympathy...I am only interested in action. What will you do for America - our great country -- at this time of crisis, at this time of war against drunken pilots?

excellent post raoul: so many things could be applied here.
i want to know who the child molesters are when my son leaves our house to go to his friends, who the drunks are when i'm on a highway, who the rapists are when my g/f goes for a ride, etc.
the fact of the matter is you never know. the next group of terrorists could be anyone or no one. a small group of people took many lives that day and people can't seem to accept the fact that the USA is just as vulnerable as any other country.
if you truly believe you cannot feel safe until "you know" then that small group of people has won a huge battle. you have changed your life for them, you live in fear. hence the title terrorist, that is what their life is all about, causing fear.
no one knows who will be the next attacker nor the next victim. however statistically speaking you have a better chance of being a victim of a robbery homicide rather then a terrorist attack. live life, you never know when it will end or at who's hands.

Well with all due respect to Raoul and AjRagno the original post does indeed depict how many of American’s feel. Raoul brings up a good point about a few bad pilots flying while intoxicated, however that is much different then some people hell bent on wanting to destroy the most powerful nation in the world. I say wanting because they NEVER will be able to.

There is a Muslim man where I work and him knowing me as he does spoke with me about the 9/11 and asked my opinion on the situation as far as what did I really think about Muslim’s in general. He asked knowing I would give him a straight answer and I did so.

I told him that I believe the majority of Muslim’s are good people wanting to live a safe and meaningful life like any other person. That they are no different them myself with the exception some may believe in a different God, have different cultures etc. That they are no smarter nor dumber then me for they are human.

As with any human, be it Muslim, white, black etc there are and will always be few that are truly hateful ones who wish nothing more then pain and suffering upon others in what ever forum they can bring it in.

He agreed that the Muslim population in America should be doing more to condemn this attack as well as do everything in their power to provide information on someone suspected of plotting a crime, be it a terriost action or every day mugging. However with that said there is fear in the Muslim population as well. Just like any gang populated neighborhood many people are going to fear denouncing gage activity and rarely give any information to police to stop a gang or gang member from committing a crime IF this individual will have to come forward later and testify to that fact.

Here is how I see it. Until we rid this country of most of the liberal BS that “protects” criminals, be it your run of the mill murder in a gang neighborhood or a terriost act, and giving them more rights and protection then the “actual” VICTIM you will most likely NOT see any more cooperation then you do today.

The Muslims are no different a people, they have fear like any others. Should they be doing more to denounce terriost actions? I would like to see it, in my opinion it would give a more calming effect. However that is my perception. It very well could turn out negative bringing more attention to them then they want, could be very negative attention. So I don’t know the answer. If they want to remain quiet then so be it.

IF some of them start promoting the actions of the terriost then I have problem and it is “deportation” for them, otherwise, so long as they follow the laws of OUR country, theirs, mine and yours then they are free to live here. They do not have to fly the flag or join the military to satisfy me in their love for this country. All they really have to do is live in piece, follow the same laws we all do and try to be productive citizens, and to raise their children in the same manner.

However I will say this, they as in all human beings have a “personal responsibility” to help law enforcement stop a potential crime or action from occurring. Yes that mean Muslims should be helping law enforcement. Now I have no problem with anyone saying that should happen “so long” as it is carried out constantly which means:

- It is every pilot’s responsibility to turn in other pilots for being intoxicated.
- If you’re white and hang out with other white’s that wish to cause trouble for other white or non-white people or have committed a crime it is your responsibility to report that.
- If you’re black and hang out with other black’s that wish to cause trouble for other black or non-black people or have committed a crime it is your responsibility to report that.

You see where I am going with this, I hope, it is not right to require a particular segment of the population to do something “unless” you are going to require ALL others to do it as well. This is the conservative way. The liberal way is to pit one group against the other or to make different requirements on one group over another.

 

Something else I forgot to mention in my last post is this, first I am white, some of you may know, some may not but I felt that important to mention before the following:

9/11 was the largest terriost attack against America. It was the largest terriost attack against innocent American’s.

The second largest terriost attack on America and innocent Americans was committed by Timothy McVeigh a white guy who LOVED the flag and served his country in the United States Military.

Just to put it into prospective. If ones feels all Muslims should be doing everything in their power to weed out the terriost among them, then one should also feel that all white people should do everything in their power to weed out all the Timothy McVeigh’s and yes he was a far right wing nut case.

What concerned me was the author painting with such a broad brush. All American-Muslims suspect in his eyes until proven innocent.
If it's true that 'many' Americans feel this way then I guess it is possible to repeat our history.
During WWII there were no German internment camps nor were there Italian internment camps. For the most part they looked just like standard issue Americans.

But there sure as hell were Japanese internment camps. They were easy to spot on the street. Men, women, children collected and 'interned' during the war. Livelihoods and possessions gone.

That's pretty much what the "You worry me" mentality smells like to me.

 

You know the difference between the drunk pilots and the Muslims is that the drunk pilots didn't have the intent to slaughter thousands of innocent people. They did not premeditate murder.

Anyone that cannot see the difference ...worries me.

Any one that ties being drunk to a murdering mindset driven by a religion worries me.
