I've heard a version of this but it is what is the longest word you can type on the top row.
The answer may be longest for all rows....
The usual answer is typewriter....
but TEETERTOTTER has more letters. (There is debate over TEETERTOTTER...some say it is hyphenated and some say it is not, also there is disagreement if it is really a word or just slang in the northwestern part of the U.S. for seesaw)

Down here in the good ole' south, we don't recognize teetertotter, but the next best bet is:
TATTERTOTTER, hashbrowns compressed into a small brick, frozen and sold as a food product at most local groceries. (just heat and eat, cast iron stomach not included.)
