LOL, well Jeff Gordon is number two in the Winston Cup...err Nextel Cup point standings after yesterdays race...

I was just curious why Libom thought Jeff Gordon was gay is all. Because he is divorced? I think he is one of the top Drivers out there. If he is gay...I'd like to see the proof. I was wondering if his comment had any validity or if Libom was just popping off.

I have deep respect for Lance Armstrong after what he has been going thru (sp).
Hope he is clean.
Did you know he was dating a local girl from here before he got married. She was a cyclist also.

Let's see if you are really into cycling.
How many Dutchmen won the Tour de France.
What was his name and in what year?

Joop Zoetemelk won the 1980 race .

I have been into cycling for a very long time.

The grandson of Beryl Burton currently makes my bikes to measure for me !

(Colour coded to the Aston Martin !)

Who was Beryl Burton ?

Female cyclist that kicked all kinds of butt back MANY years ago. Died around 1995 I believe...British I believe.

I'm more of a 'fat tire' guy myself. I used to race the ole' Avalanche LE back in the college days. I had more money in my bicycle back in college than I did my car.

Actually RP....I might have to adjust my personal wish list....

Went to Silverstone this weekend with the MG for a large race meeting and got to see the new MG supercar in the flesh....what a machine. Will try to find a link for you if you haven't seen one yet.

But then as we were enjoying our hospitality suite in the paddock a guy turns up to visit in......

A Ferrari Enzo.

All the press reports have suggested it is rather odd to look at at least from photos.

However I can report that from having played with it and seeing it in the flesh.....it is one hell of a motor car.

HOWEVER our main motoring program "Top Gear" on TV last evening reports on a new supercar from of all places ....
Scandinavia. (Sweden)

Check it out.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/prog17/koenigsegg.shtml
It has the strange name Koeningsegg and it is mind boggling.

Outperforms a McLaren F1 (Easily) and is going to give Zonda and Pagini a run for their money.

(If indeed those names have reached Stateside yet).

Anyone want to help me rob a bank ?!

Okay Len now you're doing it!!!!!

B. Burton, didn't she hold many long distance time trial record in England, not just for women, but for men also?

Hey, by the way don't forget before Zoetemelk was Jan Janssen, 1968 (and Gert Jan Tenuisse (Sp) came soooo close.

CoachP, I knew you were just kidding, you have too much athletic background not to appreciate the Tour just a little bit. I did get a laugh out of your post.

I can't believe that you even mentioned that F150 Europe. Lance's record stands for itself. I think he will once again crush everyone in the tour. I will have to get the pay sports channel so I can watch it again this year. I hate the way American tv covers the tour. They try to glam it all up and detail all these backstories and we only get to see a few minutes of racing. Drives me nuts.

I would also include another win for Greg Lemond as he was ordered to hold back and let his teammate take the tour, I hate to even mention his name.

I remember when Greg Lemond was Sport's Illustrated's athlete of the year. A columnist from one of the papers wrote a big column piece on how could they award Greg the title and that it should have gone to a baseball or a football player. Greg volunteered to buy him a bike and pay his airfare to go over and ride just one small climb. He never took Greg up on it.

My money is on Lance once again.
