I thought Hornadays could be bought off the shelf...
or are those just the casings?

I was refering to hot custom round nose compared penetration compared to hollow point defense loads

My uncle told me (big time gun guy) he has not seen a pistol pentrate further than a 9mm. He use to work on guns in his basement and would test fire into a 4x4 support post. He popped off a few rounds from a 9mm into it and they kept going (don't know what loads he was using). He had fired .357 magnums into it several times and not had the rounds exit before.

But, obviously over penetration is not wanted in a defense situtation.

Ummmm--say--uhhh---just where DID the bullets go after penetrating/bouncing off the tile???--P.S. ,If you REALLY did do that---you better take a big long look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are responsible enough to own firearms. And ,no, I'm not an anti-gun nut --I'm a regular shooter and a Viet Nam vet. Good luck with the tile. My wife would kick my a$$ if I did that.

boy, I bet you have some killer parties. How 'bout we all show up at your house for 4th of July. I'll bring a stack of phone books and a box full of critters. Anybody else up for this?

With targets that are smaller than the ammo, who needs firecrackers?

Yup, 9mm hardball will penetrate further then just about any other PISTOL round out there, with the exception of .357sig hardball.

Since tile reacts kinda like glass, the bullets just kinda mushroomed when they hit the foundation. And yes. my wife wanted to kick my ****. I think she is getting used to me by now. She knew what she was getting into when she married me. But damage is repaired. She is just sitting and waiting to see what will happen next I suppose.
