quick Q about phone cards
It shouldn't. I used them when I was in the military - no one ever mentioned it to me.
I was thinking about getting rid of a long distance carrier and getting a card for the infrequent times I use my home phone for LD. I'd keep the local phone company for emergencies or applications I don't want my cell on. Normally I call using my cellphone where long distance is free...
Anyone else do that?

It is a 1-800 #... card says for step one: 1+ 800...etc etc. So that's a 1-800 number, right? Somebody please tell me about this who is 100% certain..not that I don't appreciate JD and school bus's replies
I'd love to know why all the questions.....
Check the details on an old bill and see if your provider lists calls to toll-free numbers. If they don't the calling card call would probably not show either; however it could show as a call by an OCC (Other Common Carrier) in the detail or on its own page. The number you dialed to the OCC would most likely show up, and not the terminating number.
With 40,000 people reading these messages I don't know how successful you will be at "hiding" anything.

The call wouldn't show up on mine, but that is because I have a business line, and all my calls are 8 cents each, so my bill simply says x number of calls on it. Only the long distance or local toll calls have the numbers listed.
Yeah, JD, I use my cell for long distance too.
I also make a call and when it says there is a long wait time, I hang up and use the land line. Don't want to suck up cell minutes for wait time.
