Pix and questions

When I bought my truck, I wanted it to take the miles off my tbird . My truck is a stripped down 95 with no power windows or locks. It's a manual. Therefore, I never took great care in its appearance. Well, it's black and everyone knows how hard black is to take care of. Well, I got the cleaning bug today and washed (for only about the 5th time in almost 3 years of ownership) and waxed it (first time... ) today. It's got some scrapes and scorches and I didn't think it would look very good but it looks pretty good. Two pix.....one and two .
I gotta question about wheel cleaning. You can see that I have the regular wheels and brake dust is a problem right now. I let that go too and I'm paying for it in elbow grease. I need to get a better shaped brush so that I can get into the holes in the wheels, but is there a cleaner that will cut easily thru that caked on brake dust? I used some Simple Green today and it worked fine but I didn't have a correctly shaped brush to really get it and I was wondering if there were a better cleaner.
Also, I have a two inch circle spot on the hood of the truck where the paint is gone and I think the previous owner just used some spray paint to cover it. They weren't fooling me but I didn't mind. Instead of having it painted, about how much would a black hood from a part yard run? I may make some calls tomorrow but thought I'd ask.
Thanks,
tbird
