Question Anyone with a Mac here?

Isn't it possible to play videos with *.wmv on a Mac.
If it is possible, do I need something special, drivers, codec, etc..

TIA

Thanks, hope it works.

Do these files play well on an I-Mac.
Anyone have experience with these files on a I-Mac.

TIA

I suspect that if it's MAC OS it'll work... not sure though.

That is ok, you have a right to voice your opinion,it is wrong, but you have still have a right to it
I have had both, Windows based and Macs. I think Macs are soooo much better. Mine is very stable and rarely does someone take the time to write a nasty crippling viruses for Macs The only problem with Macs is Apple's poor marketing and Microsoft software for the Mac sucks (part of Bill's evil plan).

You had me at first, but then you fell off the wagon. Macs are good, but so are Windows machines. XP is VERY stable, as is Win2K. Most instabilities are caused by users jacking with the machine, not the OS itself.

I have crashed Macs, I have crashed Windows boxes. Bottom line is, both are good at some things; neither are good at all things.

Just my $.02...

Amen! I run both Mac and Windows, my machine of choice is the Mac. Ain't much a Window's machine can do that can't be duplicate on a Mac. AND, MY MAC NEVER CRASHES..... YES, I SAID NEVER. I ran 36 network fileservers (novell), in 18 of those cases Macs were the workstation of choice, the remainder were Windows boxes. I had one person running the Mac/novell networks, I had 4 people running the Win/novell networks. The Mac side ran an average of 20 to 25 trouble calls a day, the Win side was more than double that.

I'm currently running an iMac with X and classic in the background.

F150, Rockpick (or did I hear somewhere it was changed to Rock****?) is correct, use the Windows Media Player he pathed you to. I think the version I'm using is 7.1.3. something. I very seldom use it, but it has worked when needed. I can't remember specifically the extention of the files I've used. I'll see if it can find a .wmv and try it.

Windows all the way! Win2K is better than any other version I've tried! I buyild my own PC's and software is much cheaper for them, and plus, all the good games are made for Windows

You can't really build your own Mac, the cheapest prices you can get on a mac is whatever apple decides, not the computer store you but it from..... Windows 2K has crashed zero times because of it's own fault. It HAS crashed twice because my Adobe CD had a scratch in it when I installed it. That's the only time it's crashed (and I ain't easy on my PC either!)

Way back in the day, we used CRAPle in school, that is how I picked up the habit of saving my work all the time, always crashing when I was doing any photo or video editing, drove me crazy. I must say that I never see any Macs running at buisinesses. When I was in the Army, not a Mac in sight, around town, no one uses them. I think they are elementary machines. Also, go to best buy, circut city, or any place else; you'll see 1 row of Mac software to every ten rows of PC (also, the Mac stuff is SOO expensive)

I'd gladly pay more money for a Mac since I know it works. I own two Macs, one bought fours years ago and the other three years ago. Both had one small problem while still under warranty. Both fixed easily, and neither has given me a problem since. Now I can't say the same for the numerous PC's I've worked on at my last job.

Mac OS X doesn't try to get in your way and annoy the hell out of you while you are trying to do work, but the same can't be said for Winblows. It's like Microcrap believes the average person is too stupid to operate a computer, so they try and force a certain way to work or offer suggestions for what to do. Let the damn people work. Don't try and guess what the person is trying to do and offer a suggestion. It just annoys them.

Whoops, sorry for the rant. Back to the topic.

There isn't anything at work that I can't do with my Mac. More businesses need to start considering using Macs, and I think that will happen within the next year or so. Apple has made some great strides within the last two years or so.

And about the only good use I see for x86 hardware is running Linux.

Just my $.02.
