Angry Awww crap!

[RANT:ON]
Ever had one of those days? Weeks? Month?

Talk about a rotten run of luck. Ignoring the rest of my issues with the farm, my family, and my fiancee'....in a matter of a couple weeks my truck seems to be getting ruined. Im just about ready to give up trying to have a nice vehicle at all and just drive junkers that I dont give a rats *** about.

It all started a couple of weeks ago. I took my truck in to have the A/C converted to R-134A and serviced. I was going to do it with the help of my dad but the weather and repairs on farm equipment threw that idea out the window. So I took it into a mechanic and when I get it back my pass. side fender is scratched up. The careless moron who worked on it didnt bother to use a fender cover! Granted nothing is through the paint and it can probably be buffed out...but why? How hard is it to protect the paint? Then a few days later the replacement A/C compressor (a used unit) starts making alot of racket until it finally locks up. So much for trying to save money by buying used...luckily they warrantied it though and I got a new (well, reman) unit. Still have to get it fixed though...this time Im sending a fender cover in with the truck.

Then a couple of days ago I had two bad things happen in one day...first one was at the grocery store up in Moorhead. It was a fairly windy day and I was walking back out to the truck and to my horror I see a shopping cart that was headed for my truck. The cart had just been left in an empty parking space by some lazy, dumb 50 year old wench driving a Lexus SUV. She saw it starting to move but didnt bother to stop it. Anyways it hits the side of my truck leaving a nice half dollar sized dent in my drivers side door right by the door handle...where I always see it. She took off before I had a chance to say anything to her, the dumb b!tch couldnt even walk an extra 2 f'ing parking spaces over to put the cart in the corral.

Later that day on my drive back home I stopped at a rest stop and pulled up into a parking space. About 6 spaces over from an old rusted out Dodge pickup with a gun rack and some greasy haired crazy looking mo' fo' who looked like he just got out of prison. The door was open to his truck and he had a German Shepard inside. I took a quick glance over as I was pulling into the parking space and had my windows down (no A/C remember) and my music playing at a fairly loud volume. As I was about to shut my truck off this dog comes full bore towards my truck barking and growling like crazy. He then jumped up on the pass. door of my truck and practically tried to jump in. I quickly closed the window and the guy finally called the dog off. It was too late for my truck though, scratches up and down my door...some even through the paint. He got the dog back inside so I walked up to him and confronted him reasonably and calmly about not keeping control of his dog. He looked at his truck and said, " I got a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and a German Shepard that wants to rip your ***** off...I suggest you keep on moving and not hassle me." With no one else at the rest stop I wasnt going to argue with him so I went on my way but not without getting his license plate number and calling the State Patrol. It turns out he had a warrant for his arrest and they would soon be catching up with him...at least he got what he deserved.

Then to top it all off is what happened last night. I was on my way back from Duluth on Hwy. 23 after dark. I was driving about 60 mph keeping my eyes peeled for deer since this is a very bad highway for deer. In my rearview mirror I noticed a small car with ricey blue headlights and neon glowing underneath that was fast approaching me at a high rate of speed. There was a long string of oncoming traffic so he was right on my a$$. Probably no more than 6 feet behind my rear bumper...I couldnt see his headlights in any of my mirrors. As I glanced in my mirror I saw a small deer (last years fawn) run out right in front of my truck. I had 3 options: Swerve into oncoming traffic, slam on my brakes and get rear-ended by rice-boy, or stay on course and pray that the deer gets the hell out of my way. Well it didnt, I nailed it with my right front corner as it was scampering and stumbling to get out of the way. My bumper is pushed in, grille, turn signal and marker lens are busted.

The damage could have been much worse...Im just glad it wasnt a big buck. It just pi$$es me off so bad because it didnt have to happen. If that dumbass wouldnt have been tailgating me then i probably could have slowed enough to avoid it. This just really chaps my a$$ because it is only because of other people's stupidity that this happened. I have put alot of money, care, and effort into my truck to make it nice and keep it that way. My truck was near perfect in my book, and now it has a busted up front end, dented door, and a scratched fender and door...with none of it being any fault of my own.

[RANT:OFF]

Sorry for the long story. Its just that I have been in the tractor for 10 hours today (and I will soon be going back out for probably another 6-8 hours) stewing about this and I had to get it off of my chest. Anyone have a similar set of experiences? I'll post some pics sometime soon.

Sorry to hear about all that, it really sucks exspecially the ricer moron.

If it had been me I would have slammed on the brakes to let ricer boy destroy his car with my rear bumper and then have ricer boy or his parents pay to have that damage as well as all the other damage just done to my truck in the past week...

Hope things go better for you...

Dude you should have slammed on brakes. ******* the gay civic driver. Worse thing that could have happened is him rear ended you. As for the dude with the big german shephard and the gun. You should have slapped the hell out of him.

So far I've been rear-ended twice (thank God not in my newest truck). Try and remember the physics of this event so you'll be ready the next time.

1 - You brake hard and the rearend of your truck rises as the nose dives.
2 - When rice boy brakes hard his nose dives severely.

The result: Big damage to riceboy's car when he tries to drive under the back of your truck and you get scratches on the bottom of your receiver hitch. Next time, hit the brakes!

As far as the dog jumping on your truck goes, that sucks! Kinda the reason I carry a Glock .45 under the drivers seat of my truck. That hound wouldn't have scratched another vehicle again. Trust me.

Hang in there.

That truely does suck. I willn't be so low as to say it a Chevy---But I was thinking it

I most certainally would have slammed the brakes to miss the deer(think next years hunt) and let the ricer deal with the rear of my truck or a ditch/woods

I don't think I would have pulled my pistol unless he went for the shotgun, but you can bet your *** my cell would have been dialing 911.

But on the good side, they say bad things come in 3's
Heres hoping Monday will be ALOT better

I too would have slammed on the brakes, anything that happens behind my truck is not my problem. As a matter of fact, it is his problem. He wouldn't tailgate a person again.

I would have hit the brakes too, and concentrated on the deer, and let him worry about his following distance.

He has no idea how blind he is driving. I have hit the brakes for a deer only to have the tailgater pass me swearing the whole time at me never seeing the first deer and luck there was not a second.

I once had a tailgater on my tail and a cycle on my right when I noticed a skid in the right lane. I hit the brakes to allow the bike to cut in front of me. The guy behind me got pissed, and pulled out into the right lane just in time to drive over the top of the skid.

You should have seen the look on his face.

No matter what happened, I had the bike covered first, and me second, he was on his own.

Dude you gotta realise something. He was tailgating and it his responsibility to have his cracker box under control at all times. Worse thing that could happen was you slap on brakes and he runs under the back of the truck. It want hurt you are that truck. In fact i'd put a $100 dollars on the table today that there would have been less damage done by the gay ricer than the deer could have done. When I use to have my chevy i had 3 or 4 people run underneath it at red lights. It put a few scratches on my chrome back bumper, but that can be replaced. Heck we were sitting at the red light and a women wasn't paying attention and her car had to be towed off on a tow truck, but the chevy was still driveable. They can take a beating. It could have been a win win situation for you. One more ricer off the road and the deer would still be alive. That what insurance is for. Although they hate for you to use it.

When I was driving my 2000 F150 before I got my new truck, I got slammed into from behind. I was sitting still at a red light and their was a Chevy Cavalier sitting behind me. All of the sudden I hear a loud screech and look in my mirror and all I can see is a big puff of dust and smoke. An older car like an old crown vic or something like that, that had the old metal bumpers on them had slammed into the Cavalier and then slammed into me. We finally get off the road and look at the damage. The car that hit us had his front bumper smashed in a little. The Cavalier had its rear bumper messed up and a big hole about 4 inches wide in his front bumper. The rear of my truck sat kind of high in the air and he slammed right into my trailer hitch. Never even hit my truck.

So I would have just hit my brakes. He probably would have swerved out of the way and then he would have either ran into your trailer hitch (if you have one), or swerved and then he probably would have been the one to hit the deer. Besides, it probably would have tore his little car all to pieces and wouldn't have done much damage if any at all. Plus, he would have also learned himself a lesson.

Besides, if he would have hit you, it would have been completely his fault for tailgating. He would have gotten the ticket, his insurance would've went up, and his mommy and daddy would have tore his butt up

OOPPPS!!!!

If I had a sidearm, and that dog came at me in my truck, I would've shot him.
I love dogs, probably more so than most people, but when some arsehole's actions (or lack of) cause me, my dogs or my family potential harm, then it's fair game.

My dogs are always leashed, and twice already I've had to take action to protect them. Once a nasty loose shepherd was circling like a shark, and he got a size 12 workboot in the head, another time at a campground in NS, the campgrounds owners rotti/mix got a baseball bat in the hind quarter.

I don't have a problem with people who want to own vicious dogs, but damn it, what gives them the right to let them run loose and terrorize everything in their wake?

Sorry to veer a bit OT.

Getting back to the deer, it doesn't look too bad.
I once clipped a 10 p buck in my sable (barely clipped him on the p-side of the car, and the car was a total write off. Looks like you got away fairly lucky.

Hopefully all the bad luck is behind you now, and things will get better.

Good luck
Habibi

I've hit plenty of deer before and it is no joke or fun. I probably would have braked to out of instinct and then the ricer would have hit me. No big deal there because then it would have been out of his pocket.
What would have pissed me off his the guy with the dog. Even if you had a gun pulling it out in that situation would be a very bad judgement call. Either you will be in a gun battle with the dog's owner or he would have called the cops and you would be in jail. Which is what pisses me off, they guy would have to literally have gun to your head before the cops give a ****. My fiances parents have a full blooded Rott that can be very protective. The difference is is she is well trained and is never let out of the chain link yard without a leash and never gets out of the vehicle. Now if your a stranger and plan to step foot in the house or on the property without her knowing then you got a 150 lb+ dog on your heels. I play wrestle with her sometimes and from a stand still she can knock you to the ground. Dogs are no joke, I'd be more afraid of a dog than most people holding a gun at me.
