All in all it was a great week until the last day. I set my car up to go, changed the tires and then let it sit to go do some laundry. When I get back I guess my dad decided to take a pass in it. Well he blew the motor up. It is knocking and squeaking. Oh well I guess. Just have to build it up bigger and stronger. I was really hoping for an 11sec time slip though. -Mat-

How long have you had that car?
Did you ever run an AMC Spirt with a 390 in Waterbury?
Looks like one I had a run in with a few years back. JA

My dad bought the car brand new. Has 46,000 original miles. He "gave" it to me(the only car that was given to me). I still call it is he calls it mine. But anyways no I haven't race a AMC. There are a lot of GN's and T's running around with rims like mine. So who won the race anyways>??? -Mat-

I watched one of those roll three times one day while driving down the interstate. No doubt, by far and away, the worst wreck I've ever witnessed.

Well, I lost only because I couldn't hook up, even starting in 2rd.....lol! It would easily wheelspin 3rd from a stop......no lie! It is actually a friends car, 390 "Rebel Machine" motor .060 over , custom Lunati cam with .635 lift. The car had so much torque it started to tear the pass side "A" post at the top of the windshield. It had a M 21 or 22, Ford 9" with 4:10's.a 980CFM Predator carb. The motor was 550 horse. It gave up the ghost, lost the top of the ring lands on a few pistons.
It tore up the body of the Sprit, it was pulled rebuilt to 650 hp, and now lives in a 68' Javlin, now an automatic.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I had a blast at the event and that is all that matters to me. I slapped the parts on the car and did the trans in 2 days so I was happy with a 12.20. I have been building a 4.1L for it, capped and girdled. Guess I will have to build it sooner. The bottom end is done, now it is time for a ATR Roller Cam, Champion Alum Heads, Roller Rockers, Matched Intake and a fast system and I will be crankin' out some nice numbers. I saw a Silver Gen II Lighting and a Redfire 03 Cobra when I was there, was that any of you guys>??? -Mat-
