I use to run a lawn service so any of you guys who have lawn related questions feel free to ask.
What kind of clover is it? White or red? Most broadleaf weed killers should take care of it. The brand names arent jumping out at me right now but look at the labeling. 2-4D is one of the herbicides that you should be looking for. There was talk of outlawing this in my state for home users so you may or may not be able to buy it without an Applicators License.
Most consumer lawn products list what weeds they kill so just take a close look. Clover can be tough to get rid of sometimes if there is alot of it. If one application doesn't do it then you may need to hit it again with a slightly stronger rate.

But you think thats expensive? You should see how much agricultural herbicides cost. I farm with my dad and some of it is really outrageous. For example there is one grass herbicide for corn called Accent. It is highly concentrated and covers alot of ground but it is something like $1000 for 16 ounces of powder!!!

My Dad used this stuff called "Cross Bow" or something like that..... It was really expensive stuff too. The smallest he could get was one gallon and it was over $150.00. He had over an acre of lawn, so it was worth it for him.
He gave me about 8 oz. of the stuff, and you only mix it to 1 oz./gallon. The stuff takes care of clover and all of the other broad leaf weeds in the lawn and leaves the grass alone.
Great stuff. I've tried the off the shelf stuff, and they seem to either not work at all or end up killing the grass too....... Heck, just for "Round UP", it costs like $10.00 for a 12 oz bottle, but it only makes 2 gallons.... WTF.......... It's the concentrate too. 6 oz./gallon... whatever..... Anyway, I degress.....
Good Luck!!

I use either Ortho Weed-B-Gone or Spectracide Weed Stop. Both are 2-4D based broadleaf herbicides. If you get the clover young then one treatment should work. If it's been growing a while you might have to hit it a second time.
giving a second thumbs up to the ortho weed-be-gone product line. it does contain 24-d.
i buy the concentrate, and mix 4 tbls spoons per gallon of water
(thats what they recommend for kentucky blue grass) and whatever else is in the seed mix i use in the yard.
the stuff works really well and drys quickly on the weeds (clover included). if i recall right, i think it dries within one hour of application.
getting rid of the violets on the other hand is turning into a real p.i.t.a.
found a seperate ortho product for that, but the jurys still out on that one. they seem to be alot more stubborn, and more resistant to the chemicals i have used.

you could use radium isotopes. Just insert them into the lawn every two feet throughout the whole parameter of the lawn. It will kill everything!
Heeheehee ........... sounds like like lawn care tips from Homer Simpsom.
MN4x4 is right, Accent is not cheap stuff....out here on the farm the chemical bills get quite high...fungicide for our wheat on wheat acres runs $350/gallon, used to be that corn would cost terrible much for herbicide but we went Roundup Ready this year...you want something that'll kill clover, thats the stuff you're lookin for...itll also kill evrything else that is green in your lawn, but thats just a small side effect...
... fast gator is right too..stuff may as well be drugs for what it costs
