I tried to get Earthlink DSL a few months back. They called me and said because I didn't use their phone service, I couldn't use their DSL. Had everything ordered and everything. Oh well...

 

I've got Road Runner but it isn't as fast as it could be... and at some times it's almost as slow as Dialup... But it still beats dilup cause I can run my server and my computers at once

Which area of service in NC do you have your RR service in? I`ve had mine in the Raleigh/Durham area for 3 yrs and get a consistent 2.0 to 2.5 download speed, once in awhile higher at late night hrs. Upload on the other hand has some issues at time.
My neighbor got GTE/Verizon DSL because it was cheaper by 5.00 at the time and I can blow the doors off his speed up and down

 

All you guys are lucky. Where I'm at in Germany (small town, in the country) we only have dial-up access. Costs something like 1.5 cents a minute for 4.2Kbps. Takes forever to download anything. Add another item to the list of "Things I miss about the US".
