A/C unit

I can't use the search engine to find a/c air and conditioner did not come up. Anyhow, Is there a link to a site that shows how to service an A/C unit?

Also, I tried charging mine and it would not take in the 134. What the heck? I drained the old system after that and refilled it. Still, no cold air and the system took a long time to refill and only held 2 cans. Why the heck won't it blow cold? Shouldn't there be some kind of coldness after 2 cans? Could it be a bad condenser?

can you see the clutch on the compressor engage...check your fuses, check your pressure switch...are you using the correct access valves to charge the unit...take it to a shop that deals only in A/C's..and act innocent about whats going on ..if they figure out you've jacked with it,your toast...they look for shark bait floating on the sea of life

First I am no expert on AC. I do believe that you can overcharge a system and it will not work properly, and may cause some damage as well. You best bet is to take it in somewhere like TexfordD suggested and have a professional look at it and either charge it correctly or repair what ever the problem may be.

If you like having AC and don’t want to pay to have another new system installed you should take it in before you damage it beyond repair.

what worried me 01 was that he said he drained the old system and refilled...no vacume? how much oil blew out with it?...A/C systems can be very dangerous in the hands of an amatuer..as a matter of fact thats what get injured the most by either freon contacting the skin or charging cans hooked up to the wrong valve and exploding!!!..there are things you just let the pros do and a A/C is one.

Well

I refilled it through the correct low pressure side. It is 134 and not R12 so I was a little more confident.

When I drained it no oil came out really, just hot air.

I would try and post your question on the "HVAC" thread under the title "Body" you may get more answers to your question there. I would still say just take it to a professional.
