Baseball cards

I went to visit my dad at his new job as a caretaker of a place and in the basement we found thousands of baseballl cards.
The few that I stopped to look at seem to be from 1980 to the early 90's. One box that caught my eye was a Nolan Ryan set. It started from a pic of him as a baby and went up from there, seemed like a couple of hundred at least. There are many, many more, including sets.
I really don't have the time nor patient to go thru it all, but anyway is there somewhere(thing) that i can find the value of baseball cards? I gave up watching baseball back during the first strike, even then never cared for collecting cards.

any advice?

Yes there is a book or magizine that is put out I believe monthly with the values of different cards for what condition they are in. I can't think of the name of it but maybe if you do a search on the web you will come by it.

PhillipSVT has a good suggestion. If you go somewhere that sales baseball cards they will be able to tell you what the book is, and most likely sale it as well, good luck.

I haven't collected baseball cards in probably 10 years now. I used to have several of the price magazines. There are several different ones, but the main one is called Beckett Baseball Cards Monthly. They used to sell them anywhere, but a sports cards shop will probably have them. Some of those with Nolan Ryan are now probably worth a little money, Maybe not a whole lot, but some. Hope this helps.

Beckett... the only name that you need to know when you're trying to assess value on cards.
