You can fill up at BJ's in Portsmouth for $1.46. Since it is just down the street from work, that is where I fill the beast up now. I used to use the Texaco station, as that was the cheapest. Hasn't seemed to affect my mileage either. Still pulling in those high end numbers 12.5-13.1 MPG.

No gasoline bargins in this freaking town...

It was down to $1.31 and then jumped to $1.59 overnight... I just don't get these damn 25 cent + jumps... no justification (with the exception of easter travel greed)...

The gasoline bastiddds!

I wish. Gas is still $1.98 for regular. And that's here on post. It's still over $2.00 in town.

I was in Washington last week on business and that's the case, seemingly, all the way up and down the western sea board.

Right outside of Seattle on I90, we hit an exit that was posting $1.95 on all four corners of the main intersection...

Wonder why it's so much less expensive to the east?...

Keep in mind that you guys in Cali pay HEFTY taxes on every gallon of gas for air pollution control and for clean up of leaky gasoline stations. In fact, almost all of us are paying similar taxes but, Cali, by far and away, is the most stringent state when it comes to environmental regulation... Hence, open your paper and look at the job postings for environmentally related folks... there are probably two pages alone...

They can't keep people out there because the regulations are so stringent and they pay so little.

In many places in California, the North East, and one part of Texas the "gas gods" are required by the EPA to oxygenate the gasoline because the air quality does not meet the EPA requirements. This ads to the cost of fuel, which will most likely never get under a dollar again because in 1995 the EPA made the gas companies add detergents to their fuel, further raising the cost of gasoline.
