A buddy of mine had something like that happen to him. He paid a guy in Atlanta about $3500.00 for some type of assult rifle, the guy called him a few days later and told him that someone had broken in to his house and the gun was gone and that he would send him his money back. Of course, the guy disappered. He had used his real name, which was an unusual last name, and figured no one could find him because he had an unlisted number and the only number my buddy had was his cell phone number which was then disconnected. I think he used paypal or something because he did not have an address for the guy other than the part of Atlanta he lived in.

My buddy got lucky, he found the guy's mother's phone number which was not unlisted. She lived in the same part of Atlanta that the jerk lived in.

Anyway, he talked to the guy's mother and told her the situation and said that if he did not get his money back, he would be overthere sitting on her front porch every afternoon until he got his money. I guess it scared her and the jerk because the next morning, the money was deposited in his checking account.

He found out later on a gun board that the guy had done this to several people but he was the only one that got his money back.
