VIN Information
VIN Information
Trivia really.
I found the breakdown for the last 6 positions (12 thru 17) of the VIN known as the Production Sequence Number.
This is how it works for 1981 Fords thru present.
It is a counter for the truck coming off the line at that particular plant(000001 - 999999).
Ford replaces the leftmost zero with an Alpha character(12th position).
So,
'A00001' would be the first job off the line at that plant.
'A00500' would be 500th build.
'B00000' would be the 100,000th vehicle
'B05000' would be 105,000 vehicle
The plant codes (11th position)
'C' - Ontario
'K' - Kansas City
'N' - Norfolk
My truck was the 160,675th F150 out the Norfolk plant.
Anyone have a interesting build number?

That is interesting F150Europe. It tells me Norfolk was building a lot more F150s than Ontario.
Your Canade truck built in Feb 99 was number 63014.
My Norfolk truck built in Mar 99 was number 160675.
(Total Number of F150s built at all plants in 1999 was 513,015)

My 98 4.6 reads:
1FTZX1768WKB03439
my seat belt date reads 1-6-98 and my windsor motor reads 1-4-98 on its tag
so mine is truck 103,439 and probley rolled out on 1-6-98
--also what do all the numbers mean at the bottom on the VIN tag mean? Someone needs to take a pic of their VIN tag and explain all the numbers/letters...
