Good vs Evil

ib fast, Weather you justify the civilian casualties by calling others hypocrites or by inferring that Saddam Hussein slaughtered more than your war efforts did it will still be seen as a terrible thing. The face you put on it is very important to the perception of others. Weather the bombs are US or Iraqian one could argue that they would have not been dropped if there was no Coalition presence.

I agree that missles/bombs that come from Iraq and are used on its own people, could be called casualties of war.
I am not trying to justify anything,in the end,i will not have to.
It seems to me that anyone that protests the war, should also have been outraged with the treatment and savage murders that have gone on for years in Iraq, at the hands of its own dictator, but I do not remember hearing a peep out of anyone..
This leaves me to believe that the people who protest now, have a problem with the U.S and not the casualties of war.
I also find it very interesting that most non French Canadians,Itailians for example, are not anti war......who would have thought.
Interesting rebuttal folks.
I believe in the end the coalition will come out of this looking good. I do not doubt it at all. What will have to be done in order to achieve that will be interesting to see.
As Iraq is subject to Arab tribal influence the coalition will be forced to maintain a presence strong enough to intimidate all the tribes into towing the line or you will end up with a revolt. If you favour one tribe member as a leader over an other he will be subject to all sorts of attempts to remove him ore even assassination. This is based on the tribal beliefs that these people abide by. By picking one over the other you will have shamed the others. They will have to retaliate in order to remove the shame.
About the French.... I would not like to be in their shoes. They will have a difficult task convincing the world of their credibility.
