Ijust pointed this out to a friend from Canada & it was obvious he'd never thought of it - if a terrorist attack hits the US again & they use ANY sort of bomb - be it biological, chemical or radioactive, there is NO way the US can stop the spread of these agents via airborne transmission. Canada is going to find out second hand (is that what's called collateral damage?) what it's like to be attacked - innocent or not. If they'd only want to cover their own butts they'd back the US 100% & let US do what we have to in order to proect THEM!
Don't get me wrong - I respect Canada & love it's people but damn, I'm getting a little tired of having to protect the whole world or feeling responsible for what happens to another country. Maybe, just maybe it's time we looked out for #1 - the US ONLY & let everyone else take care of themselves. It would be SO much easier to play world Guardian if we'd get a bit more respect & appreciation. Till then, let's just take care of our people. I bet that if other countruies had to fend for themselves they'd come crawling back apologizing. Of course I do not include Britain in this - I think Tony Blair is awesome!
Just my 1 cent - my other cent is invested in my other post!

In hockey they have these guys called refs, they are fair game for booing if they miss a blantent call.....and anyone who disagrees, gets knocked on there *** ....does that make them or you a *****?[ insert smiley with black eye]

ib fast,

Sorry that I may have offended you. I did not mean to, I just feel that in some situations booing is not correct to do. I know about the rule regarding refs in hockey, and if they miss a blatant call then it is ok to boo.

I agree with GreenBuck50.

In certain situations, I think it is okay to boo. If a ref or official in a sport makes a bad call then it is okay. But to boo something like the Star-Spangled Banner is just disrespectful. They play the Canadian National Anthem at sporting events here and people do not boo it, or I at least cannot remember when.

I still do not understand why there is so much tension between our two countries.

Yea, lets compare booing the ref with booing the national anthem.
We used to have season tickets to the Detroit Vipers. (We live too far to go to the Wings games) My daughter and I went since she was two and all the Palace employees knew us because of her (and mine) limitless enthusiasm and friendliness towards everyone. This includes supporters for the other teams. My daughter loved it when we played Canadian teams because we would get to hear both anthems. The IHL is no longer and she is 9 now. By god even she knows you don't boo when anyones national anthem is being played. Good job people for having less respect, integrity, and sense than a 9 year old.

Who is comparing.... read alll the posts before you open your mouth

He said booing for any reason made one a pus*y and i corrected him.
As a long time hockey fan and player for 10 years, i think i know as well as anyone when it is exceptable to booh......and obviously, it is not during any national anthem as i mentioned in my first post.

Growing up in a border/hockey town[[Sault saint marie] you learn these things.

Please read my earlier post and don't think that all Canadians are Canadiens. That one letter makes a big difference to those of us in the west.

Also, please check out http://www.canada.com/calgary/story....8-0A8790B5FACD .

Western Canadians support the US and Britain. In fact, our Premier sent a letter to the US consulate in Ottawa stating that Albertans support the war effort. See http://www.canada.com/search/story.a...e-e02db31f9c62

Although that is your opinion, your government may think differently should something happen.

The opinion of others is not necessarily the opinion of the entire country.
