I have been thinking about getting that Mityvac.

First, I have bleed brakes before but I have never flushed them. I would like to flush them. Now I never used any thing in the past when bleeding the brakes other then another person pressing the pedal down as I open the bleeder value, then close etc.

My question is:

Do you use the Mityvac to pressurize the master cylinder (instead of having someone press the brake pedal)? Or is it connected to the bleeder value and you open it and suck the fluid out through the bleeder value?

If that is the way it is done, is it easy? messy? and it is easy to allow air into the break lines?

That all depends on what the definition of “was” was…

She could suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch......

You connect the vac to the bleeder valve and suck the fluid through. It is a pretty slick setup, even a trained monkey could handle it . Oh and it doesn't allow air back through very easily.
