Are you good at math? Try this....

If a car starts the quarter mile already going 100MPH and steadily accelerates reaching 140MPH exactly at the 1320 mark, how long would it take him to do the quarter mile in?

Heres what I got:

1.6 MPM

8488 feet per minute
1320 in 1/4 mile

141.46 FPS

9.33 E/T if you go 100 mph the whole way

2.3 MPM

12144 feet per minute

202.4 FPS

6.52 E/T if you go 140 mph the whole way

If you start @ 100mph and accelerate to 140mph your E/T will be 7.925

Sounds about right.

V = d/t

(remember V is AVG. Velocity in this case)

V = 1320ft/7.925sec
V = 166.5615 ft/sec

me and a friend were just chillin and out of the blue he said, "how fast would you do the quarter mile in if you started it at 100mph?." So assuming that I reach about 140 at the trap, i figured it out.
