I don't agree with the strike first philosophy, but that's water under the bridge at this point. The deeds done, now let's pull together and make this work from our end. NO more dissenters, it's war, we're in it, and we're gonna win it! Nuf' said. Time to get all those flags out again. They've fade from view a little in the 9/11 aftermath. Their beautiful to see at all times.

The first strike was on 9/11/01. Al-Qaeda has/had training camps in Iraq.

Frank S is absolutely correct THIS IS NOT A FIRST STRIKE. If you want to ignore 9/11 fine, then I would refer you to the resolution passed in 1991. That gives absolute legal authority for the United States to carry out a military (defensive) attack against Iraq.

Iraq, after 12 years has NOT done what Iraq AGREED to do over 12 years ago. So this is a defensive attack because of 1991 and 9/11. That is fact, it is not fiction. To believe otherwise is to hallucinate…

Sorry if I bummed anyone out with the facts.

Then again I am not a socialist liberal, so since I don’t feel your pain, I don’t CARE if I bummed anyone out with the facts…

First, second, or dead last, makes no difference now. We're in up to our ankles and the water's getting deeper all the time. I figure Saddam will drown about the time it gets to our a$$es.

IMHO Saddam should have been taken out 12 years ago. It's also enough justification to take him out under the premise that he funds terrorism (Palastinian terror groups) openly and the things he's done to his people.

It's too bad GW has some background that the Anti-Bush crowd use. Specifically "daddy's war" and "it's about oil". Stupid arguments, but, whatever. You can't change the impressions of someone that can't think for themselves.

Most importantly, to our troops. Get the job done and get home safe. There is nothing more important than what you guys do.

serotta:

I like your post about the flags. However, if I may, I have one thing I would like to ask those “thinking” about flying the flag at home or their car of wherever.

If they do NOT support America in its action to defend its interest which involves using the military then PLEASE, put your flags away and DO not show them.

Either people COMPLETELY agree with it or they do NOT. If they do not then they “really” do not support the troops. That being the case they are just following the crowd and not having the courage or ***** to actually stand for what they believe.

I know that sounds harsh, but I myself, and of my “own” opinion do NOT want to see a bunch of followers and cowards marching around with a flag to “fit in” with the crowd.

I served in the military, and others that have as well may disagree with me, and that is fine. Anyhow I served in the military to protect people’s right to say what they want and have what ever opinions they wish. I also served to protect the flag (America) and though I have no problem with people running their mouths about what ever cause they wish, I just do not want to see them “disrespecting” the flag to “fit in” with the crowd.

If you truly agree in your heart and soul that America has the right to defend herself and her citizens then please do fly and show the flag, otherwise please step to the side and leave the flag to those that truly believe in it.

Saddam Hussein has been paying support to the families of the hijackers from 9/11, too, because their family members died for their cause. That is reason enough to kill him right there.

There are very few times in my life that an issue has been "black" or "white". Almost every issue has a hint of grey in it. I, personally, don't always agree with my local, state or national government decisions. Foriegn policy is one of the areas where I find it difficult to agree at all times. BUT, despite that, I want to "fit in". I'm an American, I still get "goosebumps" and a little teary when the National Anthem is played, or we Pledge the Flag. I may disagree with the direction of our policies, but once those policies are implemented, I'm the most patriotic ba$tard you'll ever find. You and I (and I suspect most Americans) arrive at the same point, we just take different rides to get there. Truly the American way!

Yeah, I'm tolerant of people's rights, but just ride for miles in the damn left lane on the interstate and see how tolerant I am..... Okay, we all have our breaking points!

Don't EVEN get me started on that one...... In fact, I'm starting to get intolerant of people in the left lane politcally as well- I think it started with the ones from hollywood mouthing off.

Funny last night I was over at a buddy of mines that broke his femur skiing about 2 wks. ago. We were watching the Prez.
His neighbor came by to bring a card and a bottle of nice french champagne. Talk about BAD TIMING. I laughed and said "so your gettin' of your french stuff too, huh??"
No comment. You see this guy is German. Been here about a year, works for a german company with american divisions. Nice guy, too. Then in the course of making small talk he tells us of going skiing himself with his FRENCH buddy
that weekend, while their wives and kids went shopping here. Oh man.....
It was so f$%king tense you could cut it with a knife, I kept my mouth shut cause it didn't seem right to start a political debate (while the muted TV was running pictures of european protests) but it was like this big pink elephant was sitting there with us and nobody acknowledged it.

I think on a large scale that's what we're gonna be dealing with.

This guy was there with the best of intentions and you couldn't help but appreciate his sincerity and gesture, but man were we miles apart idealogically. VERY AWKWARD.

Just remember, everyone has a right to have a point, even if it is on the top of their head!
